edge conditions: landscape patterns
dennis maher, spring 2013
The development of a cohesive design for a collection of building and landscape spaces is achieved through the impact of physical, intellectual, and historical context on architectural form, space, and structure. The design of terrain and building is explored within a site from the scale of the landscape to that of the occupant. The specific geometry of the field is used to connect the landscape boundaries defined by the natural edge conditions of the site.

during the COOLING MONTHS, the sliding door is closed and the fan is turned on pushing the hot air from the interior towards the exterior which then escapes through the vents above. during the HEATING months, fresh air is brought into the space and then trapped by closing the vents above, the air is then heated by the sun. it is then brought into the office space reducing the amount of energy needed for mechanical heating.

nerea feliz, fall 2013
Through a series of investigations and explorations of different market systems within the Buffalo area, a proposal is generated for an antique market with a complementary auction space. The market projects to redefine the shopping experience as an exhibition. Through traveling through the specific exhibition rooms within the market, costumers are not only shopping for the products that they plan to purchase, but are also treated to a show that celebrates the value of the vintage-antique products.
