RESUMO – Ao longo da história da humanidade, pesquisadores e pensadores sempre refletiram sobre as transformações das eras e, sobretudo, previam o dia em que o homem se renderia a sua própria criação, ou seja, aos meios tecnológicos. No contexto atual, observa-se, a cada dia, a marcha forçada da sociedade rumo ao desenvolvimento, obtenção de lucro e expansão das fronteiras, não obstante, essa mesma sociedade esvazia-se dos passos do passado e constrói um futuro refletindo somente no presente, ocasionando, assim, a marginalização de grupos sociais. Desse modo, o presente trabalho buscou retratar a trajetória de vida e origem da assentada Maria de Lurdes, pertencente ao assentamento Nova Pontal, situado em Rosana/SP. O recorte da pesquisa busca expor as características de um povo que lutou e luta pela posse de terra no extremo oeste de São Paulo. Para isso, utilizou-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica exploratória para contextualizar os fatos coletados por uma entrevista semiestruturada. Desse modo, tornou-se possível refletir sobre a história de vida e origem da assentada com os paradigmas existentes no meio em que a mesma está, e identificou-se a relação entre os relatos individuais e coletivos, bem como de que modo a história individual auxilia no entendimento dos fatos históricos. ABSTRACT - Throughout the history of humanity researchers and thinkers have always reflected on the transformations of the ages and above all, predicted the day when man would surrender his own creation, in other words, the technological resources. In the current context, it is observed every day the forced march of the society towards development, obtaining profit and expansion of frontiers, nevertheless, this same society empties from the footsteps of the past and constructs a future reflecting only in the present, thereby causing marginalization of social groups. Thus, the aim of this work is to portray the trajectory of life and origin of Maria de Lourdes, belonging to Nova Pontal Settlement, situated in Rosana/SP. The research clipping seeks to expose the characteristics of a people which fight and fought for possession of land in the West of São Paulo. For this it was used an exploratory bibliographical research to contextualize the facts collected by a semi-structured interview. In this way, it has become possible to reflect on the history of life and origin of the settled with the paradigms in the midst of which she is, and identify the relationship between individual and collective accounts, as well the way individual history helps to understand historical facts.
