It was my privilege to be born into a Christian family in the city of Philadelphia in the year 1922. Both my father and mother were born-again Christians and were active in our local Methodist Church. When I was fourteen years old I received the Lord Jesus as my Personal Savior at a Methodist Young People's Conference, and two years later, at a similar Conference, I surrendered my life for full-time service. After graduating from High School in 1940, I attended Asbury College for two years, then served in the Army Signal Corps for 39 months. Two and a half years at Bible Institute of Penna. (now Philadelphia Biblical University) and two years at Bob Jones University completed my formal schooling, in the year 1950. In the Fall of 1950 I married Letitia K. Quigley, who had also attended the Bible Institute of Penna. and Bob Jones University. We applied to the West Indies Mission and went to Haiti in 1951, and then on to Surinam in 1954. A personal tragedy came to me when it pleased the Lord to call Letitia home to Heaven in March of 1963. I returned to Surinam that summer after spending a few months with my parents and experienced two busy and fulfilling years as our missionaries saw God at work, especially in the good response of the Indian population
in the interior (those who had little or no previous knowledge of Him). The death of my father in the Fall of 1965 brought me back to the U.S. again, since he had been caring for my invalid mother . At that time, mutual friends arranged for me to meet Judy, who was on furlough from Irian Jaya at the time. We both returned to our respective fields in the summer of 1966, and corresponded, then returned to the U.S. to be married in February of 1969. After a good furlough, we travelled together to Surinam in February of 1970,and served there until 1983. God gave us two children, Daniel in 1969, and Geraldine in 1972. We then lived and served in Maryland and North Carolina until coming to live at Bradenton Missionary Village in June of the year 2000.
