Tips To prevent Hair Loss A proper hair care is very essential to prevent hair loss. This has to be started at the earliest before hair starts thinning or before the occurrence of hair fall. Prevention of hair loss has various benefits. It helps to save money which will be spent on hair loss products and hair loss therapies. It also reduces stress which we experience due to hair fall. A regular hair care routine is easier than struggles which we have to undergo to prevent the loss. Texts of Ayurveda and Ayurveda acharyas recommend various solutions to prevent this condition. Here is the list of ayurvedic healthy tips for a proper hair care. 1. Keep your hair clean: Hair follicles on scalp secrete natural oil. This attracts dirt and dust making scalp and hair dirty. This attracts microbes (bacteria and fungus) and cause scalp infection. Microbes reduce the strength of hair follicle leading to the loss of hair strands. Hence wash your hair and scalp with warm water and shampoo that suits your hair and scalp. Wash your hair once in three days. Repeated hair wash leads to dry hair and split ends. 2. How to apply shampoo: Our body produces natural oil which is secreted through oil glands of skin and scalp. This oil keeps our hair strands conditioned. Hence do not use harsh shampoos which strip off natural oil of scalp. Brush your hair from root to tips before washing. Always use mild shampoo to wash hair. Dilute the shampoo with equal quantity of water and then wash scalp and roots. Do not rub hair tips between palms while shampooing. This may lead to split ends. 3. Oil massage to scalp is very essential: Massage your scalp and hair with hair friendly oils like sesame oil, coconut oil, almond oil or olive oil. Some may prefer castor oil. Hair oil which is processed with hair friendly herbs help to condition the hair and prevent drying of hair. A good head massage help to increase blood circulation to scalp skin and aid hair growth. Head massage also reduces stress, tension headaches and induces good sleep. 4. Trim your Hair at regular intervals: Trimming you mane regularly helps your hair look and feel better. Besides, it’s also a long “bye-bye” to those annoying split ends! 5. Keep your lifestyle Healthy: Health of scalp and hair depends on health of body. Follow a healthy diet and lifestyle to keep your body healthy. Include lots of fruits, vegetables, cereals, pulses, milk and milk products which supply plenty of vitamins, minerals, protein and antioxidants to hair follicles. Proteins, Vitamin B, Iron, Calcium and Zinc have especially been linked to healthy hair. Vegetables and fruits

provide antioxidants and minerals which are necessary to keep the body healthy. Amla (amalaki or Indian gooseberry or emblica officinalis), is considered as a fruit which help in hair growth. Include banana in your diet as banana contains plenty of calcium which is a vital nutrient required for hair growth. Healthy hair requires proper hydration. Drink plenty of water to keep hydration in optimum level. 6. Exercise Regularly: Exercise regularly. This helps to increase blood circulation and keep our whole body healthy and rejuvenated. A brisk walk for 30 minutes is advisable for all ages. 7. Avoid Hair styles which pull your hair: Avoid tying hair tightly with hair bands. This leads to baldness. Hair styles like braids and ponytails weaken the hair roots and can cause hair loss. 8. Say no to Harsh Chemicals and treatment: Using harsh chemicals like dyes or harsh shampoos may damage the roots and strands. Avoid blow drying, frequent hair straightening or curling. Allow your hair to dry naturally. Do not comb wet hair. Wear a swimming cap to prevent hair damage due to chlorine. 9. Keep calm: Stress and anxiety are other two causes which cause loss of hair. Practice yoga and meditation to reduce stress level. Aerobic Exercises also help to reduce stress. 10. Test The Hair Product before applying: Do not apply hair products without testing. Apply little quantity of hair products like dyes behind ears. If you notice any discomfort, itching or redness on this spot after 1 hour, do not use it. To get more tips click here.
