PROJECT: Residential design for family of 4
The penthouse’s design facilitate a lifestyle that suits the family’s diverse schedule and support its development. This is achieved by creating a layering constellation of planes that divide the perception of the space and blurs the boundaries between defined rooms. The configurations of the horizontal planes influence the events that take place in a certain space, and vice versa. Vertical ones implie the boundary. By sectioning off the space and translate it to implied planes, occupiable planes and operable planes, the space itself thus can be consciously perceived as a spatial constellation.

The concept of the library design is to reveal and conceal space in times of need through rotation and counter-rotation. Rotation of certain elements within the spaces of the library reveal and conceal elements at different times of the day, and employees can control the accessibility of spaces through both these gears and this core bookshelf.

PROJECT: Second-hand Retail design
The project emphasizes on retail bookstore design for Housing Works, an organization which advocates for people living with HIV/AIDS through medical, supportive, housing services, resources, and retail sales. Rotating bookshelves allow customers to physically interact with the book forest. Micro field condition of individual rotating bookcases echoes the macro field condition of the grid. Lawns that are scattered along the forest grid serve as resting nodes, providing community meeting places for customers. The second floor catwalk’s fixed circulation contrasts with that of the first floor.

This space of worship built solely with one material-- paper cups, is meant to be a hugging booth. Hugging, an action that keeps people grounded, feeling loved and comforted, is a ritual, a worship to the self and to the other. People are welcomed to the space to interact with the texture of transitional modules while they hug and occupy the space. The three paper cup modules provide a transition between privacy and publicity within the sculpture. The joining of the modules also resonates with the chracteristics of HUGGING-- bringing together.
