Award Marks 10th Career Dove Award for the 2015 Country Music Hall of Fame Inductees
T
he Oak Ridge Boys were the 2015 recipients of the Gospel Music Association’s (GMA) Dove Award for Country Song of the Year for their recent country single, “Sweet Jesus,” originally written by Kenny Vernon and country music icon Merle Haggard, who joined the group on the recorded version of the song. “Sweet Jesus” is just one of the stand-out tracks on the award-winning group’s latest album, Rock of Ages, Hymns and Gospel Favorites, which is available in retail stores nationwide and online. This award marked the group’s tenth career GMA Dove Award overall. Producer Ben Isaacs, who co-produced the album with The Oak Ridge Boys’ Duane Allen, was on-hand to accept the award at the 46th Annual GMA Dove Awards in Nashville on Tuesday, October 13, 2015. ountry music superstar Keith Urban is the subject of a career-spanning exhibition at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, which follows the multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM Award winner’s path to Nashville, where he’s become not only one of country music’s bestloved ambassadors, but one of the world’s most-respected musicians. Urban’s road to success has been paved with 19 #1 songs across multiple country music charts, including his most recent “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16”; more than 20 million albums sold; Grammy, CMA and ACM award wins; a reputation as one of the best live performers in any musical genre; and membership in the Grand Ole Opry. He possesses a historic streak of 34 Top Ten songs and is the only male country artist to debut simultaneously atop the allgenre album charts in the U.S., Canada and Australia. “I developed a love for country music at a very young age. I recall

seeing artists like Johnny Cash on stage and thinking ‘that’s what I want to do,’” said Urban. “It’s truly amazing to have my life’s journey on display at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.” Keith Urban So Far… chronicles Urban’s life from childhood and his early musical influences to his hardwon rise to fame and present day success. The exhibition represents this journey with a wide array of historic and priceless memorabilia from Urban’s collection, including artifacts from his childhood such as an embroidered western shirt and pants worn by Urban at age ten and photos and documents from Urban’s childhood scrapbooks. Original handwritten song manuscripts and many of Urban’s most cherished guitars are featured, including his 1989 Fender Custom Shop 40th Anniversary Telecaster “Clarence,” which was his primary guitar for many years; an exact duplicate Urban had made of the cherry red 1981 Fender Stratocaster that
was his main guitar in his teens and early twenties; and the Levinson Blade electric guitar played by Urban on his first #1 hit, “But for the Grace of God.” Stage clothes worn by Urban at concerts and award shows are included in the exhibition, along with his 2000 ACM Top New Male Vocalist trophy; 2004 CMA Male Vocalist of the Year trophy; four Grammys for Best Male Country Vocal, for “You’ll Think of Me,” “Stupid Boy,” “Sweet Thing,” and “’Til Summer Comes Around”; and his 2011 Grand Ole Opry Induction trophy. The exhibit examines Urban’s exceptional talents as an entertainer,
musician and songwriter, attributes that have sustained him for his entire life. In addition, the exhibit examines his passionate commitment to charitable causes including music education and the arts. Keith Urban So Far… runs through May, 2016.

Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers
L
Celebrating 60 years in 2015
arry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers have been dazzling audiences for 60 years. It all began in 1955, when Larry was six, Steve was four, and Rudy was two. Since those days, the road that the trio has plowed has taken them to concert stages all over the world, and has seen their records top the charts and touch the lives of fans from eight to eighty. Larry says of their 60th Anniversary Tour, “We’re not calling it a farewell or a final tour. We’re calling it the 60th Anniversary Celebration. By no means are we retiring, but after this tour, we are going to slow down a little bit. As Larry says, “There are other priorities in life. I have two granddaughters. Brother Steve has seven grandchildren and Rudy has two kids. We still love the fans and the road and we still love to sing but we want to spend more quality time with our families.” After performing together as children, Larry went off to college – studying law at the University of Houston. In 1971, he auditioned for the legendary Imperials, Elvis’ backup group. He didn’t get the job, but he met Dottie West, who was the opening act for the legendary Jimmy Dean, who would become one of Larry’s oldest and best friends. Dottie was initially taken with Larry’s resemblance to Nashville songwriter Mickey Newbury. Dottie told him one night in her backstage dressing room at the Landmark Hotel in Las Vegas, “Larry, you look so much like Mickey Newbury, you’ve just got to be able to write great songs.” After the gig in Vegas, Larry went home to Houston, wrote eight songs, sent them to Dottie, and she sent him a plane ticket to Nashville. Through Dottie, Larry met Kris Kristofferson, who became a champion of Gatlin’s talent as a writer and singer. Kristofferson introduced Larry to Fred Foster at Monument Records which resulted in a contract with the record label. His first album, The Pilgrim, was released later that year. notes for his first album, and dubbed him “The Pilgrim,” which is what he called Larry until the day he died. Steve and Rudy moved to Nashville in 1975 and teamed up with brother Larry to form Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers. By 1976, the Gatlin Brothers were in the fast lane, thanks to the chart-topping success of the Grammy-winning “Broken Lady.” The hits continued throughout the rest of the decade, with seven more number one songs: “I Don’t Wanna Cry,” “I Just Wish You Were Someone I Love,” “Statues Without Hearts,” “Love Is Just A Game,” “All The Gold in California,” “Houston (Means I’m One Day Closer To You)” and “Night Time Magic.” In addition to being inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, the trio was nominated for awards by the Country Music Association, the Academy of Country Music and the Music City News Awards, among others. “We won some of ‘em too,” says Larry. Today, we sound just like we did 40 years ago.... pretty dad burn good. We’re not being run out of the business. We’re not down to bread and milk money. We just think it’s time to do some other things, slow down a little bit, and do it with class and dignity – on our own terms. We are grateful to God for our fabulous run and we can’t wait to see what else He has in store.” In addition to the tour, the brothers will soon release a new Gospel album on Curb Records, titled, Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers 60th Anniversary Celebration. Larry says, “We were going to call the album, The Gospel According to Gatlin because some of the new songs are a little edgy, a little bit different. And speaking of edgy, Larry says, “Steve and Rudy and I didn’t get where we are by playing it safe. We have always pushed the envelope, we have always crossed borders others were afraid to cross and we’re not going to stop now... and that is the Gospel According to Gatlin.”

Goo Goo Cluster In 1912, in a copper kettle at the Standard Candy Company at Clark & First Avenue in Nashville, Tennessee, the first combination candy bar was invented. he Journey Home Project, co-founded by Charlie Daniels, has committed $50,000 to help equip the new Veterans and Military Family Center at Middle Tennessee State University set to open Nov. 5. The contribution comes from funds raised at the 40th Anniversary Volunteer Jam, which took place on Aug. 12 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Daniels and his long-time manager, David Corlew, co-founded The Journey Home Project as a non-profit organization to assist other not-for-profits to secure funds to benefit veterans. “Charlie and all of the board of The Journey Home Project are excited about our new partnership with MTSU and the veterans at this incredible university,” Corlew said. “This center will be the resource that will enable young men and women returning home from their service to transition, along with their families, into their lives as civilians,” he added. Daniels said, “We are anxious to see this center in action, a place where the many needs of our veterans can be dealt with by capable people who care.” “Charlie Daniels is a great friend of our university and an inspiration to us all for his commitment to our veterans,” said MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee. “This support by The Journey Home Project will help us improve the lives of our student-veterans and their precious families.” “The 2,600-square-foot center, located on the first floor of Keathley University Center, will be the largest and most comprehensive post-secondary center for veterans in Tennessee,” said retired U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Keith Huber, MTSU’s senior adviser for veterans and leadership initiatives. “It will address a number of student needs, including financial aid, navigating veterans benefits and academic advising,” he added. The center will have distinctive space for discussions, study sessions and will be staffed by fellow student veterans, who will serve as peer advisers and sponsors, according to Huber. There will also be a conference room for video teleconferencing and employer job interviews. The university named Dr. Hilary Miller, a military spouse and family member, as center director earlier this summer. She will lead an experienced staff alongside U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs employees Heather Conrad with VetSuccess on Campus and Veteran Affairs Coordinator Ray Howell. 28 getaway nashville and middle tennessee

Keith Huber (ret) to help veteran students and their families cope with post-war traumas, such as post-traumatic stress disorders. “The new center will encourage and facilitate the success of our veterans as they transition out of uniform into academics, and then into future employment opportunities, as they strive to become leaders in the community much like they were in uniform. It will also help to answer all of their questions and give them a place to go where they’re talking to people with a commonality of background, purpose and focus,” Huber said. Daniels has had close ties to MTSU for decades. In 1975, the second Volunteer Jam was held at MTSU’s Murphy Center and in 2009, the university presented him with the Joe M. Rodgers Spirit of America Award, an honor presented to a businessperson who has demonstrated the best of the spirit of America through significant contributions in government, education, and/or civic and charitable organizations. McPhee surprised Daniels in 2013 with a presentation on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry that formally announced the Charlie Daniels Scholarship at the Murfreesboro university, which was created in the singer’s honor through a $25,000 endowment from the International Entertainment Buyers Association. n 1959, Berry Gordy Jr. obtained a loan of $800 and founded an enterprise he called Motown Records. Between 1961 and 1971, the company landed 163 singles in Billboard magazine’s Top 20. Gordy launched the careers of Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Diana Ross and The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, and The Jackson 5 – to name just a few – and Motown became the most successful business owned and operated by an African American in the U.S. What Gordy and Motown accomplished had ramifications far beyond the world of music. Although Motown was home mostly to black artists, Gordy envisioned the music as “the sound of young America” – meaning Americans of all colors and ethnicities. Gordy and his mega team created a sound that was irresistible, a thrilling amalgamation of gospel, blues, and mainstream pop. Gordy “endeavored to reach across the racial divide with music that could touch all people,” as the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame acknowledged. Gordy’s legacy is celebrated in Motown the Musical, the hit Broadway show that tells his story and the story of Motown. attractions BELLE MEADE PLANTATION Belle Meade Plantation is a 30 acre historic site 6 miles west of Nashville. The centerpiece of the property is the Belle Meade mansion built in 1853. This Greek revival house was home to five generations of the HardingJackson family, original owners of the Bell Meade Farm. Nashville’s renowned Johnny Cash Museum has only been opened less than two years but has expanded three times during that period. The latest expansion includes tripling the size of the museum store and adding a Bongo Java Café featuring Nashville’s finest coffee and coffee drinks as well as gourmet café fare. The original Bongo Java has the distinction of being Nashville’s oldest and most honored coffee house, having opened its first location in 1993. Bongo is known for it’s use of local ingredients and coffee beans are organic and fare trade. The café offers a delicious assortment of pastries and baked goods as well as sandwiches, salads and other items made fresh daily in the facility’s new kitchen. Signature items include Johnny Cash’s Iron Pot Chili made from a recipe created by The Man In Black himself. New at the Zoo in 2016
2016 brings new and exciting updates at Nashville Zoo, including new animal exhibits, a new entry village, and a sky high Soaring Eagle zip line.
W
ith the support of the City of Nashville and generous supporters and donors, Phase I of the Grow Wild campaign is currently underway with plans of opening new features and exhibits in 2016. Because of tremendous growth and record breaking attendance in recent years, the Zoo’s Entry Village was a top priority for renovation in order to enhance the guest experience. Once complete, Entry Village will feature state-of-the-art membership and ticket facilities, restrooms, private room for nursing mothers, first aid station, security, new gift shop and more. Nashville Zoo is excited for guests to see the brand new exhibits currently being constructed for Andean bears and spider monkeys. The Andean bear is native to Peru, and guests will view the exhibit from a replica of the famous lodge at the base of Machu Picchu, Peru’s “Lost City of the Incas.” Inside this building, visitors will get an unobstructed view of the bears in their natural environment. Nashville Zoo’s spider monkey exhibit will feature several of these lively primates. For a closer viewing experience, guests will be able to watch the monkeys from a treetop viewing platform. The renovated tiger exhibit is scheduled to open in 2016, and will be expanded to provide more space for the animals and increased viewing areas for Nashville Zoo guests. The new exhibit will be home to three female Sumatran tigers. The renovation plans include an expanded bridge, waterfall and a second viewing area for an up-close view of these majestic cats. Kids and adults will also be excited about the new sky high adventure, the Soaring Eagle zip line. The zip line will lift riders 60 feet high and several hundred yards back before releasing them for an exhilarating ride back to the starting point. Riders will be able to view the Zoo’s African Savannah, Historic Home, Festival Field and Gibbon Islands. Steve Tobin : Southern Roots February 20 - September 4, 2016 (Indoor exhibition ends on May 29)
teve Tobin, a sculptor and artist of international renown, will debut Southern Roots, a solo exhibition of monumental works from his Steelroots series at Cheekwood in 2016. Tobin’s Steelroots evolved from the artist’s bronze Walking Roots, which culminated in the first art memorial in Lower Manhattan commemorating the devastating attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. In the days following the attack, Tobin, whose bronze Walking Roots had been on exhibition at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, and were de-installed on September 10, 2001, heard the remarkable story of the old sycamore tree across the street from Ground Zero that “saved St. Paul’s Chapel” and its historic tombstones from destruction. After three years of negotiation with officials at Trinity Church, Tobin managed to salvage the stump and root system from the tree and created the bronze Trinity Root sculpture, which was dedicated on the four year anniversary of the World Trade Center attack at its permanent site of Wall Street and Broadway. Tobin decided that the Trinity Root would be the last bronze roots sculpture in the series. The Steelroots evolution took the theme of roots from naturalist to modernist, enabling Tobin much greater reach in terms of scale and gestural forms. From the Dancing Roots to the Gothic Arch and minimalist three branch roots, the Steelroots series has expanded
exponentially Tobin’s oeuvre. The Southern Roots exhibition will span Cheekwood’s vast landscape, including five outdoor areas. The Museum of Art will play host to smaller pieces from Tobin’s extensive portfolio of sculpture. While in the Museum, visitors will have the opportunity to experience Southern Roots in the second floor gallery spaces, each providing an intimate setting to observe a particular style and medium of Tobin’s historic work. A piece Tobin’s work will also be located downtown Nashville at the Antiques & Garden Show of Nashville’s Entry Garden (February 12-14) and then will move to the Riverview Garden. In addition to Tobin’s massive sculptures in steel and bronze, the artist incorporates natural elements such as wood, glass and ceramics into his beautiful, mysterious and dramatic works of art. Tobin’s newest series, using wood from fallen trees in Costa Rica, has never before been exhibited and will be a highlight of the indoor Museum exhibition. Born and raised on Philadelphia’s Main Line, Tobin’s first awakening to the natural world that
would so profoundly shape his future art work was in the treehouse of his youth, where he carefully observed patterns in nature, shadows and light. He went on to earn a degree in Theoretical Mathematics from Tulane University, where he also participated in a glass blowing class. This set the stage for what would become a decades-long exploration of the medium of glass, with Tobin distinguishing himself as one of the top artists in the then fertile studio glass movement, culminating with a blockbuster two person show with Marc Chagall in the caves of Nutijarvi, Finland. Tobin’s segue into metal sculpture proved equally phenomenal, as he quickly became established as one of the top, most ambitious sculptors in bronze and steel in the fine art world where he remains today.

rom Francisco Goya’s Duchess of Alba in White to a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts’ 2016 lineup of exhibitions offers a remarkable variety of artistic media and periods. The year begins with European Old Masters, including Goya, Murillo and Rubens, from an illustrious Spanish private collection in Treasures from the House of Alba: 500 Years of Art and Collecting, opening February 5. This is the first major exhibition outside Spain of works from the collection of the House of Alba—a prominent noble family with ties to the Spanish monarchy since the fifteenth century. The exhibition includes prints and drawings, sculptures, illuminated manuscripts, decorative objects, tapestries, and handwritten documents and maps from Christopher Columbus. Opening March 11, The Power of Pictures: Early Soviet Photography and Film examines how photography, film, and poster art were harnessed to disseminate Communist ideology, revisiting a moment in history when artists acted as engines of social change and radical political engagement. From early vanguard constructivist works by Alexander Rodchenko and El Lissitzky to the modernist images of Arkady Shaikhet and Max Penson, Soviet photographers played a pivotal role in the history of modern photography. The beautifully designed high-performance Italian coachbuilt cars, concept cars, and motorcycles of Bellissima! The Italian Automotive Renaissance, 1945–1975 make their debut in the galleries on May 27. The Centerville native and Grand Ole Opry star would eventually buy a home next door to the Governor’s Mansion on Curtiswood Lane in Nashville. DID YOU KNOW… That President Theodore Roosevelt coined the phrase “good to the last drop”, words that became a national slogan, after sipping coffee at Maxwell House Hotel. The coffee was a local product of the Cheek family. Their family home is now Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Art. DID YOU KNOW… Nashville’s Athena Parthenos is the tallest indoor sculpture in the Western world. She stands an impressive 42 feet high in the temple of the Parthenon. DID YOU KNOW… Elvis recorded more than 200 of his songs at RCA’s Historic Studio B on Music Row. The red, blue and green lights found in the studio are a remnant from one of Elvis’s Christmas albums. DID YOU KNOW… Belle Meade Plantation was famous for breeding thoroughbred horses. Iroquois, bred at the Belle Meade Farm, was the first American horse to win the English Derby. In addition to Iroquois, there were two other famous horses that can trace their lineage back to Belle Meade: Seabiscuit and War Admiral, both made popular again by the 2011 best-selling novel. For generations removed, the 1930’s horses were descendents of the sires of Bonnie Scotland, Belle Meade’s prize horse, making the family rivalry at the Plantation run deep. DID YOU KNOW… In 1941, Nashville was granted the first FM license in the United States. Music City then became the first to enjoy static-free radio. DID YOU KNOW… The Frist Center for Visual Arts is located in what was formerly Nashville’s main post office, a city landmark, placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The Center went to great lengths to preserve the historical integrity of the building, as the building itself is a work of art. DID YOU KNOW… African-American artist and native Nashvillan Will Edmonson was the first black to be honored with a one-man exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Edmonson, the son of former slaves, created primitive limestone carvings of animals, angels, Biblical characters, and even celebrities. A photo spread of his work in Harper’s Bazaar led to the historic 1937 exhibit in New York City. Today, his works are on display at Cheekwood.
DID YOU KNOW… Nashville was founded on Christmas Eve 1779 along the banks of the Cumberland River. Two teams of pioneers set forth from the Carolinas to found the new city. Upon arrival, they immediately began building Fort Nashborough. Among the pioneers was Rachel Donelson, who would later become the wife of Andrew Jackson. DID YOU KNOW… The Hermitage: Home of President Andrew Jackson, the 7th president of the United States, boasts a driveway in the shape of a guitar. Legend says that the driveway was so shaped to please his daughter-in-law Emily. Nashvillians like to think it was a good sign of things to come. DID YOU KNOW… Standard Candy Company, founded in 1901, created the GooGoo, a true Nashville delight marrying peanuts, caramel, marshmallow and milk chocolate together for a tasty cluster of candy. Today Standard Candy Company uses more than 3 million pounds of chocolate a year. Legend has it that GOO stands for Grand Ole Opry. DID YOU KNOW… After a May 1885 sermon given by the Reverend Sam Jones at a tent revival, Captain Tom Ryman became an instant convert and immediately began raising funds to build a church. Upon his death in 1904, the church he built as the Union Gospel Tabernacle, was renamed in his honor - Ryman Auditorium. The iconic venue would later host such performers as Enrico Caruso, Katharine Hepburn, and Bob Hope, as well as the Grand Ole Opry from 1943-1974. Not surprisingly, in 2003, 2004, 2010 and 2011, the Ryman was named Theatre of the Year by Pollstar Magazine. Today, the Ryman is open for tours during the day and for concerts by artists of all genres at night.
DID YOU KNOW… Oprah Winfrey was raised in Nashville by her father Vernon Winfrey. While a sophomore at Tennessee State University (TSU), she was hired as a news anchor at WTVF-TV/News Channel 5, making her the first female and first African American in Nashville to hold such a job. DID YOU KNOW… That the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum is an architectural wonder in itself? One side of the building is a RKO-style radio tower while the main building, with windows resembling a piano keyboard, ends in a Cadillac tailfin-style flourish. DID YOU KNOW… President Richard Nixon was onstage when the Grand Ole Opry broadcast its first show in the new Opry House in 1974. The Grammy Gallery Coming To Music City
T
he highly anticipated GRAMMY Gallery will open early 2016 and will be an 8,500 square foot expansion of the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located on the first floor of the Nashville Historic Municipal Auditorium. Through educational interactive stations, the permanent GRAMMY Gallery will explore the creative process of making music in a hands on, immersive environment — from songwriting and MHFM exterior producing to engineering, mixing, singing, and rapping. The gallery will explore the role of the DJ and the history of the GRAMMY Awards — the pre-eminent peerrecognized award for musical excellence. In addition, the Gallery will include an exhibit about the history of the GRAMMY Awards and a 3-D view of the making of the iconic gramophone-shaped GRAMMY Award. “The Musicians Hall of Fame is a diverse multi-genre museum, much like the GRAMMY Museum,” said Joe Chambers, Executive Director of the museum. “Our collection of iconic musical instruments that have been used in live and studio sessions by some of the greatest musicians in the world, married with the GRAMMY Museum’s state-of-theart, interactive, and educational gallery, will be a great experience for all visitors to Music City.” The Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum honors the background musicians who played on thousands of iconic albums throughout history. Yes, Nashville is stereotypically country, but it is by no means the only genre that has been or is being created here. This museum sheds light on the recording sessions that were otherwise closed to the public. Visitors learn what went on during sessions such as Elvis recording “In the Ghetto” at American Original guitars from Nashville “A” Team Sound Studios 54 getaway nashville and middle tennessee
in Memphis; Ringo Starr recording “Beaucoup of Blues” at Studio 19 in Nashville, or The Beach Boys recording their countless hits with The Wrecking Crew at Los Angeles’s Capitol Records. The GRAMMY Gallery at Musicians Hall of Fame is a one-of-akind public-private partnership that repurposes a historic city property at a fraction of new construction cost and adds a unique destination and experience for Music City visitors and residents. “We are excited to develop our one-of-a-kind interactive experiences at the Musicians Hall of Fame,” said Bob Santelli, Executive Director of the GRAMMY Museum. “It will explore the intricacies of the recording process, from beginning to end, in a city where so much great music is made.” The Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum also hosts an annual induction ceremony and concert which honors new members, nominated by the American Federation of Musicians and other music industry professionals, and ensures the continued growth of the museum. The 2014 induction included greats such as Barbara Mandrell, Peter Frampton, and Randy Bachman. Nashville mogul Mike Curb was inducted with a Non-performance Award and Roy Orbison posthumously received the inaugural Iconic Riff Award.

he Johnny Cash Museum features the largest collection of Johnny Cash memorabilia in the world. From The Man in Black’s earliest childhood artifacts to the very last song he wrote, you’ll find it here. Exhibits chronicle Johnny’s life and provide a very personal and unique glimpse into his world. Depicted in stunning graphics, artifacts and interactive technology, visitors are provided a three dimensional walk through the life and legend of this international icon. Our exhibits include Johnny’s stage costumes, instruments, personal letters, artwork and handwritten songs as well as artifacts from family members and notable friends. More than 25 costumes are on exhibit including the gown worn by First lady Patricia Nixon when Cash played the White House in 1971. Another highlight is the custom Gibson J200 guitar Johnny had made in 1958 which was on exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for seven years before moving to its present home here in Nashville. The instrument is valued at $250,000. Our newest exhibit, Legends of Sun Records, features artifacts, films and musical recordings from Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison and Jerry Lee Lewis. Among the artifacts featured are some of the earliest Presley pieces ever discovered, a pair of Roy Orbison’s signature eyeglasses, handwritten lyrics to the Rock and Roll anthem Blue Suede Shoes and much more. Cash, who sold more than 100 million records, is one of the world’s best known and loved entertainers. His concerts tours took him around the world and he is known in every corner of the globe. He has received virtually every award the entertainment world has to offer and is the only entertainer in history to be inducted into the Rock and Roll, Country Music, Songwriter’s and Gospel Music Halls of Fame. His Facebook page has over

10 million followers; more than most living entertainers. He posted over 130 hits on the Billboard Country singles chart. Cash placed at least two singles on the Country charts for 38 consecutive years, including an amazing 25 hits between 1958 and 1960. Johnny Cash is the only artist to have songs on the Billboard charts for six consecutive decades.
