My goal for you this year is simple: I want you to have less stress and more peace in your life and home. I know that life brings with it stresses and struggles, but in spite of all that, I believe in your ability to make progress towards your goals and getting the best things done each day.
Here are a few things to remember as you start the new year and dive into your planner:
1
There’s nothing magical about January 1st. Don’t get me wrong, I love a fresh start and the feeling of anticipation that comes with the new year. But you can start a new goal on September 18th just as well as you can on January 1st. So don’t get discouraged, even if you miss a few days or weeks in your planner — you can always, always pick it up again. No judgment. No shame.

Your goals are worthwhile. This is especially important to remember when “the going gets tough”. You owe it to yourself to keep pushing through to accomplish your goals! In a few pages, you will find the Goal Setting Workbook to use to set up your year for success.
The best thing to do is to do the best things. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that success only comes when you do all the things. But that’s not true at all! This planner was designed to help you get the best things done — comparison and society’s standards of what a woman like you should be doing can check it at the door!
I wish you all the best and I can’t wait to see where this year takes you! I’d love to see how you’re using your planner, so tag me on Instagram @getorganizedhq and I’ll see you around!
Happy Planning!

How to Set Goals That Will Allow You to Accomplish Less Stress + More Peace This Year
PLANNING YOUR DAYS ESTABLISHING GOALS MONTHLY GOAL SETTING
Planning Your Days
When I first started planning, sometimes I just didn’t know what to write down each day. Then I came up with my signature Three-Bucket System for planning my days. I knew exactly how to prioritize my days and get done what I needed to get done each and every day. Here’s how it works:
BUCKET 1: MAIN PRIORITIES
Start out each day by picking the 3 to 5 things that belong at the tippy top of your to-do list. Work on these items first. I structure my main priorities using the phrase “HOP to it!” This way, they’re divided into Habits, Objectives, and Passions.
Habit
Objective
Passion
Something you want to do every day.
1-3 tasks you need to accomplish in a day.
Something to do every day that brings you joy.
BUCKET 2: APPOINTMENTS + ERRANDS
In bucket two you’ll write down any appointments or errands you have. You can treat this like a to-do list or even create a time-stamped schedule.
BUCKET 3: WISH LIST
Your Wish List is the place to write down tasks you’d like to get to but aren’t a top priority. If you never get to your Wish List all week long, that’s okay! It’s there to make sure you don’t forget what you need to do down the road.
Establishing Goals
FOCUS AREAS
I find it helpful to divide my goals into Focus Areas — there’s no right or wrong to this. I think through what roles I fill and how I can generally categorize my plans. Words like “Health + Fitness” or “Motherhood” come to mind.
Included in your sticker sheets are some suggested Focus Areas. The following pages will walk you through setting goals for up to six different Focus Areas. Look back at your “About Me” page if you’re having trouble deciding on which six are the best fit. And, of course, if you don’t see a sticker that’s perfect for you, you can always write in your own!
You’ll start by giving the Focus Area a rating on a scale of 1 to 10. How do you feel that you’re currently doing in that particular area of life? Don’t worry — there’s no shame here! Then you’ll be guided through some questions to help you brainstorm what goals you might like to set for the area, and what things you’ll let go this year. Finally, write out your goals in the boxes provided.
HABITS + PROJECTS
As you go through the goal setting prompts, you’ll see a column to mark each goal as a Habit or Project.
A Habit is an action you want to take each and every day. You will know you’ve achieved your goal when that action becomes second nature. A classic example is flossing.
A Project is a one-and-done activity that you will one day be able to mark off your list and never have to do again. Running a marathon is a great example of a project. Projects often need to be broken down into multiple steps in order to complete them.
A one-and-done activity that will accomplish a goal once completed. Habit Project
An action you want to take each and every day in order to achieve a goal over time.
Monthly Goal Setting
FOCUS AREA CHECK-INS
Every month you’ll find a page like the one below. The numbered banners are color coded to the focus areas you’ll be creating on the following pages. When it comes time to set your goals each month, flip back to these pages and pick one goal from each focus area to work on that month.
It’s okay if you don’t achieve all six goals every month, but having a purpose and direction is the first step toward achieving your goals! There’s also a rating scale for each Focus Area so you can do a monthly check-in with how things are going.
Brainstorm some goals that you would like to work on this year. Messy is good here — we’ll refine our goals on the next pages!
