Weekend Getaway on the Hills of Nainital
After a long discussion where to visit on our weekend, we finally zeroed for Nainital. Though it is not the first choice of many of us, but we decided to spend the weekends along with a leave in Nainital. As it is not very far from Delhi and none of us has visited the place before, it is a good choice.
Situated around two thousand meters above the sea level, this hill station is a wonderful place to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy amidst the natural beauties. We got a wonderful break from the routine life and enjoyed our life to the fullest in this part of Uttarakhand. Beauty of Nainital
The pear shaped lake with the pristine blue waters is surrounded by hills on three sides. Known as the Naini Lake, this is the hotspot for the tourists. Really the beauty of the lake is very mesmerizing. We spend quite a long time strolling on the banks, taking boat rides and just leisurely sitting by enjoying the beauty of the place. This pristine lake cast magical spells as you will have no idea how time flies there. We make sure to visit the Naini Devi Temple which is located on one of the shores of the Naini Lake. It is regarded as one of the famous religious places of the Hindus, and people throng to this shrine to seek the blessings of the Almighty.
Natural Beauty of Nainital
The enchanting vistas of the Himalayan Ranges along with the panoramic view of the hill station can best be enjoyed in the cable cars. We also took the pleasure of enjoying it. The cup of tea which we enjoyed with the hot pokoras in a roadside stall was just awesome. The beautiful aroma of the tea has captured my mind totally. The enjoyment we got sitting on a bench with the cup of tea enjoying the beauty of the valley is an incomparable experience. The tall and lush pine and deodar trees, sweet chirping of different birds along with the bustling sound of the leaves in the gentle breeze of air is what we experienced in our trek in Nainital’s Cold Street or better known as the Thandi Sadak. This place has a different type of ambiance and offers the people a perfect place to find self in tune with nature. We passed the whole day amidst the natural beauty capturing some beautiful moments of our life in the lenses of the camera.
We also had a wonderful time exploring the local markets. The inexpensive handmade items which are locally produced find an important place in the shopping spree of the tourist. The moments spend during the three days are some of the best experiences of our lives. Wish to visit the place once more and get to explore the other parts of this beautiful land!
