3 Things You Never Want in Your Wardrobe WITH Expert IMAGE CONSULTANT, GINGER BURR

When in doubt, you can default to one of the four colors that look good on everyone: forest green, deep teal, rich periwinkle or watermelon.

Second: Uncomfortable Clothes

Years ago, it was not unusual to have your clothing feel a bit binding or your shoes pinch Today, that has all changed Stretchy, cozy fabrics are everywhere and you can look AND feel great in your clothes no matter where you’re going or what you’re doing

That’s because accessories take up so little space making it easy to keep them even when you no longer wear them But having too many can lead to decision fatigue when it comes to putting together an outfit.

You won’t filter through piles of scarves or box after box of necklaces to find one to wear That will keep you from wearing any of them!

Which one makes her sparkle?

If you put on a color and feel like you have to add extra makeup or feel like you need more sleep, then the color you’re wearing isn’t doing you any favors

Comfort no longer is relegated to oversized lounging around the house clothes Even a dressier outfit can have an ease and beautiful drape that feels wonderful and doesn’t have you longing to be home in your sweats

Explore fabrics like ponte knits, modal, and cotton jerseys to get you started, and check out this liquid (faux) leather jacket that is my go-to It’s a knit polyester with elastane and is unbelievably comfy

Third: Accessories You Never Wear

Take a look in your closet at your jewelry, scarves and belts It’s highly likely that you’ve been collecting accessories for years but might only wear a small percentage of them.

Set aside some time to go through your accessories and ask yourself questions like: When was the last time I wore this? Do I still love it and feel excited to wear it again? Can I make a complete outfit with it or is it now dated or from a previous lifestyle or no longer a flattering color? Make piles and then pack away (or donate) the items that no longer work or bring you joy!

I’ve had both this scarf and necklace for years and I still love them and wear them so, while others have gone away, these are staying in my closet

Knowing what you want AND don’t want in your closet helps you create a comfortable, versatile wardrobe that makes you excited to get dressed!
