walking tour down a private road will take you through what O’Keeffe called “her red hills,” the Chinle formation. Learn about the history, geology, flora and fauna, culture of the area. 1.5 miles Friday 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. │ $39

New Mexico State Fossil

Ruth Hall Museum of Paleontology

Watch as bones of small dinosaurs are discovered right before your eyes! Ghost Ranch is known worldwide among paleontologists as the home of Coelophysis (SEE-Low-FY-sis), the little dinosaur which was found at Ghost Ranch in 1947. Exhibits also highlight the Triassic animals from 210 million years ago.

Florence Hawley Ellis Museum of Anthropology

You will see artifacts from the prehistoric Tewa, Gallina and other cultures which were discovered on this ancient natural highway created by the Chama River. Also featuring contemporary displays of santos and religious carving in the Spanish Colonial tradition and changing exhibits of local textile and folk art.

Hours & Admission

Museums are open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Please call for holiday hours - 505.685.1000 ext. 4118. Adults $4, Children $2 (13 and under), Seniors $3 (65 and older). Hands-on school programs for children are available.
