is a world renowned site for Triassic paleontology. Exhibits include the recent discoveries of Tawa, a new species of small carnivorous dinosaur and Effigia, the archosaur species named okeeffeae (O’Keeffe’s Ghost).

Paleontology Workshops

If you have always wanted

to be part of a dinosaur dig, Ghost Ranch has opportunities for all ages.

I always wanted to be a paleontologist!

Week-long field workshops are offered several times during the year, including a three week January Term session, summer and fall. Collect Triassic vertebrate fossils at the new Hayden Quarry site. Explore the badlands of Ghost Ranch for new fossil locales. Clean and repair fossils, learn about the paleontology and geology of Ghost Ranch.

School Groups

Bring your school group for a museum tour and a fun activity. Young children love the handson Bone Dig and Dinosaur Quilt Making. Kids of all ages enjoy Fossil Bone Casting where you get to take home a plaster replica of a triassic fossil. Add a hike or museum tour and lunch and you have a field trip of a lifetime.
