A BRIEF INTRODUCTION I’m 26 years old, from Italy. I completed my Building Engineering and Architecture Degree last May, then I spent my summer in Spain, where I trained in an architectural studio settled in Granada, Andalusia. There I developed a passion for sustainable, provisional and frugal architecture, for constructions made up of natural and alternatives materials, such as rammed earth, straw and wood, which use is more compatible with the regenerative possibilities of our Planet. I’ve decided to continue this personal research helping the teaching university team of Er-

gotecnica Edile subject during this year, following the development of many architectural

projects made by students of the University of Catania. On the other side, Restoration and Rehabilitation of traditional Heritage are my original interests since early stages. I’m passioned about not signed architecture, the one developed spontaneously from necessities and created with wisdom by generations of common builder.

SEPT. 2010/MAY 2016

Building Engineering and Architecture Degree at University of Catania, with the Thesis “Il Sospiro del

Moro: Nuova vita all’architettura tradizionale dell’Albaicin di Granada” (Moorish Breath: New life for the traditional architecture of the Albaicin quarter in Granada). Graduated with 110/110 cum laude and dignity of pubblication. Here’s an abstract:

“The work involves a Moorish rammed earth domestic architecture of the 16th century, situated in the historic Albaicin, an UNESCO protected district in Granada; the project aimed at identifying the best strategies of building restoration, paying attention to material compatibility, the distinction between the original parties and not, identifying various historic building techniques; in order to achieve this, I used an archaelogical survey technique called Archeology of Architecture, which I used during my traineeship in LAAC of Granada. In the project, I’ve decided to recover the original image of the house, removing accretions which aggravated structural behavior, returning units to the original architecture; last but not least, I’ve proposed a reuse of the house, giving voice to the tourist vocation of the district, but always respecting the principles of compatibility and non-invasiveness of traditional architecture.”
