the look Some key words that describe Marni’s aesthetic would be as follows. European-inflected bohemianism Quirky Feminine Off-beat Funky
the fragrance Italian fashion house Marni, led by Consuela Castiglioni and in collaboration with Estée Lauder, launched its first fragrance simply named Marni - the fragrance that reflects the discreet confidence of a women. Mirroring Marni’s aesthetic of individuality, the house’s new fragrance is made for the woman who dresses for herself, who doesn’t follow trends and has a sense of sophistication and a little eccentricity. To meet the need for innovative designer fragrances, Consuela Castiglioni proposed a formula that was originally developed for her by perfumer Daniela Andrier. Avoiding characteristics of typical notes like florals and fruits makes it an unusual fragrance and almost masculine. The raw spicy-woody formula is now enriched with dark intense rose oil and incenses.
the bottle The design of the bottle is classic yet subtly unique which embodies the Marni spirit - rigorous and unexpected. The individuality of the brand is also reflected in the design of the bottle as well, which is the memory of an old bottle that the designer found at a flea market 20 years ago. Consuela wanted a design that was traditional, one that lasts over time, like the clothes she makes, which last and can still be worn two or three years from now. The sobriety of the upper part transmitted by the light bright lacquered red top, reminiscent of the materials used for Marni jewelry, becomes an eccentric punctuation mark. It has a familiar yet unusual effect, arousing curiosity and surprise in the observer. The polka dots on the bottles are a nod to Marni’s signature graphic motifs. The elements blend together, seamlessly. The packaging is characterized by a clear structural line, which is also reminiscent of Marni’s Spring 13 RTW collection. The combination of red, black and ivory brings the Marni aesthetic to the fragrance world, with sensuality and emotion.

the juice Consuela loves unexpected, instinctive and personal combination - which is something that is clearly reflected in the scent of the perfume. Marni is the opposite of the standard concept of femininity and the scent, accordingly, breaks the mould. It starts off being almost masculine, before changing to play on the power of contradictions. On top, cinnamon bark and cardamom form a pair of hot and cold spiced notes that remain separate and effervescent; a two-tone duality reminiscent of a decisive pattern. Hints of fresh bergamot and black pepper, pink peppercorn and ginger add contrasting facets and substance. A slight hint of rose tinges the spicy-woody structure of patchouli, vetiver and cedarwood that entwine to form a singular pyramid. A final touch of incense adds depth, texture and that eccentric, unmistakably Marni touch.
