Suliko
arr. Brent Wells Georgian Folk Song Suliko is perhaps the most well-known folk song from the country of Georgia. The poem speaks of lost loved ones who can still be found in “the rose’s bloom, the nightingale’s song, and the star’s shining light.” Lovely vocal writing with a beautiful and supportive piano accompaniment.

The Promised Land
Ken Burton This work for chorus and chamber orchestra was premiered to acclaim by the Oakwood University Aeolians at the 2019 National ACDA conference. Composer Ken Burton has combined new material with spirituals and text by important historical figures to create a piece that follows the experience of black Americans during and after the Civil Rights period. This substantial work will be a good fit for collegiate, professional, and community ensembles.

Tim Brent and Amanda Quist Text by Laura Foley I have noticed joy, how it threads below the darkness… This moving work by Tim Brent and Amanda Quist expresses what it means to have hope. Laura Foley’s incredible - yet simple - poem is brought to life by the composers with a steady melody and lovely partwriting.

Vom Himmel hoch, da rieselt der Schnee (From Heaven Above the Snow Falls in Flakes)
arr. Burkhart Schürmann This is a lovely and lilting combination of two beloved German Christmas carols, Liese rieselt der Schnee and Von Himmel hoch. The timeless melodies are supported by well-crafted accompanimental vocal lines, making this truly enjoyable to sing.
SATBB with Soprano Solo, unaccompanied WW1794 - $2.75
Wena Wedwa
arr. Daniel Jackson Wena Wedwa is a tremendous song of praise from Africa. The vocal parts are accessible and repetitive, so learning the initial rhythms and texts is well worth the effort. Add a soloist and percussion to take this song to the next level. Would make an excellent opening or closing song.
SATB divisi with Solo and Percussion WW1816 - $2.65
When Angels Sing
Mark Miller Text by Herb Frombach Mark Miller’s pastoral melody and harmonies help to usher in the deep peace of a Christmas where we pause to listen. A beautiful, accessible work that is appropriate for both church services and winter concerts.
