Sri Lanka, an teardrop-shaped island known as the “Pearl of Indian Ocean, has been a calling for people who desire to immerse themselves in the time and space of history, nature and culture. A unparalleled culture set of Theravada Buddhism passed on from India for 2000 years; with Portuguese, Dutch, and British elements having intermingled through the history of colonial occupation, mix modern elements with traditional aspects and shape a unique cultural identity out of Sri Lanka. While housing various pilgrimage sites for the different religions including Buddhist Hindu and Muslim, Sri Lanka is also identified as one of 34 world biodiversity hot spots, offering one of the most unique wildlife experiences ever.
