REGGIO HIGH LINE #LANDSCAPE DESIGN Location: Reggio Calabria, Italy Course: Landescape Design Prof: Vincenzo Gioffrè Time: February 2016 - June 2016 Level: Year 3, Team work In a poor urban area of green areas where landscape is an element, with a large bumpy and dangerous road system, the objectives proposed by the project are: to create a path (the high line) that makes the pedestrian safer in an area that connects several strategic points (the university pole at the harbor and the seafront); increase green spaces and meeting places; safeguard the neighborhood from uncontrolled building development. We wanted to develop a project that was as close as possible to the goals, promoting the creation of a natural and eco-friendly spatial public that faced a high level that promotes a slow path in contrast to the speed of the highly trafficked and dangerous road system in the area in Object. The High Line project is conceived as a viable route that intertwines with the natural areas of the new park and is based on a system of strategic points that connect with the raised structure. The project includes a number of gardens and event areas.
THE GRID HOUSE #ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN Location: Limbadi, Vibo Valentia, Italy Course: Architectural Design 1 Prof: Ottavio Amaro Time: February 2016 - June 2016 Level: Year 3, Individual work
The project is based on the architectural and functional reconstruction of a building confiscated from organized crime that is to be given a common use destination that must be referred to a medium to high building consistency, so that it can assume an important and significant urban role. With the new project it is intended to retrieve and maintain the existing carrier, in cls, reconfiguring through some actions the geometry and division of the areas, aiming at a better view, by developing a grid system that envelops the building and develops, in some spaces, internally going to create furniture.

Museum of Messina Earthquake #ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

The project involves the construction of a museum with its external and internal spaces, which must contain, but also reconstruct, documents and materials of various nature that show the development of the city of Messina from its origins to the earthquake of 1783, 1908, and then again the last reconstruction until the Second World War. One wants to face the need to create a place of memory, a place where to find an urban and architectural identity, largely compromised and / or scattered by the development of the city, without ideas and without design, from the sixties of the twentieth century onwards . The chosen urban theme has emerged from the very beginning, ie the alignment of the building to the main axes of the urban context. The chosen points are the customs, the corner of the isolated 301, via Giuseppe Natoli and Via Tommaso Capra. The museum develops through a courtyard structure that follows these axes and spreads over 4 floors above ground, plus a basement, accessible via a ramp and a stairway system, leading to the memorial. Here is the entrance of the building which through a persistent outline tries to guarantee to the visitor a unique experience that through its contents sensitizes and awakens the memory of one of the events that most marked the territory.
CONNECTING CITY #SUSTAINABILITY_INNOVATION Location: Reggio Calabria, Italy Prof. Consuelo Nava Course: SID_Sustainability and Innovation of the Project (Advanced Process) Time: February 2017 - June 2017 Level: Year 4, Team work The project is based on the topics of the new sustainable design paradigms, with reference to the aspect of technological innovation, process and product, applied in context of sustainable urban project. It consists in the upcycling of poles used in the bus-stop by integrating it with info functions, free wifi, free charge, smart energy.

A NEW FACADE SYSTEM

The green roof movement has grown especially in recent years and some countries have put them at the center of their sustainability plans. They are a true architectural revolution, both in environmental and aesthetic terms. This great news could not come from New York, a state-of-the-art city. Green in almost every city in the world is a rare commodity, which is why the garden roof phenomenon has taken hold and is growing more and more. Even potted cultivation can be a first step, avoiding the transportation of large amounts of soil and the installation of irrigation systems where this is not possible. These two points were the main factors influencing our idea, applying these concepts not only to cover, and therefore to the roof garden, but also to the faรงade through the use of vegetated panels and brise-soleil panels. Our system involves inserting into a vegetation facade, along side this innovative system with a traditional material such as cooked. The facade system is made up of four different modules, but is joined by a single anchoring system allowing easy assembly / disassembly, also making possible interchangeability between them.
