A Season for Service
A Season
FOR SERVICE
It’s hard to believe we’re already headed into the holiday season and the end of the year! And what a year it’s been. From disrupted supply chains to labor shortages, to vendor issues, we know 2021 has delivered challenge after challenge for business owners. Through all the tough stuff, we at NiteHawk believe it’s important to keep our heads up, focus on the positive, and look for ways to give back. We wanted to share some recent community service projects happening at NiteHawk and encourage all our friends in the industry to look for ways to do some good. Recently, NiteHawk donated 800 children’s activity books and 236 new boxes of crayons to the YMCA at Fort Bliss. Fort Bliss, an Army base located outside El Paso, Texas, is one of the primary entry points for refugees coming to the United States from Afghanistan. About 80 flights filled with evacuees have landed at Fort Bliss since August. Of the 10,000 refugees currently living at the base, one-third are children. Though these children and their families will face many challenges as they begin their new lives in the United States, we hope that playing the games and coloring the puzzles and pictures in these activity books will lift their spirits. Our awesome employees are also out there doing good. NiteHawk Controller Monica recently donated

time to “Serve Our City,” an interfaith community clean-up effort in South Seattle. With other volunteers, Monica helped with refuse removal, maintenance, and landscaping for a local youth home. She is a great example of a service-minded individual, and we’re proud to have her on our team! President Tracy Day has been up to some ghoulish good as well. Over Halloween weekend, he transformed his home into a Haunted Forest for friends and family to enjoy. The Forest was free for all, but he collected donations for Seattle Children’s Hospital, raising over $1,500 that will serve local families in need. Running a business always brings challenges, but we never want to lose focus on what really matters. We hope you’ll keep an eye out for ways you and your business can give back.
