Light-Bodied Crisp Whites Taste tested with a New Zealand & Central Coast Sauv Blanc, a Washington "Dry" Riesling, and a Pinot Grigio from Fruili-Venezia Guilia.
To start, the garlic & herb cheese dip mixed with sour cream was a great pairing to both warm and cold
climate Sauvignon Blancs. The salty and crunchy potato chips was supported by the high acidity in all of these wines. The green olives were complimented by the green/vegetal notes of the NZ Sauv Blanc.
Full-Bodied Crisp Whites Taste tested with a California oaked Viognier and
Chardonnay. Like harmony, the creamy camembert
cheese dipped with toasted rustic artisan crisps come together. The rustic green olives and soft chewy apricots shined with the Viognier's stone fruit
characteristics while the popcorn's soft flavors complimented both creamy wines.
Sweet White Wines Team tested with a Moscato D'Asti, Washington Sweet Riesling and a Gewürztraminer, the versatile textures of these snacks do wonders with a sweet wine and the sublt frizzante bubbles from the Piedmont crafted Moscato. Nuts, dried apricots, olive oil sea salt crackers, camembert cheese spread, honey, apricot jam petites.
Sparkling Wines Taste tested with a Cava Rosado (sparkling rosé), we had to include our Strawberry Shortcake cookies and we were right. In addition, we tasted with a NV (non vintage) Brut Champagne. Along with roasted & salted pistachios, a soft camembert cheese, summer sausage, and some fun potato chips all comes together. The sparkling wine cuts through the saltiness and fattiness with ease, cleansing the palate.
Full-Bodied Reds Taste tested with a Washington Syrah and a French Cabernet Franc. The earthiness of these wines complimented the tapenade nicely. The creamy cheese spread and summer sausage helped balance the medium+ tannins. The mixed nuts and toasted artisan crisps provided a nice salty and crunchy support. And lastly, the fig jam was a nice compliment to the fruit forward Syrah.
