BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE – Any names to be entered in this Book should be given to Ann McDonald (01748 823223) along with the date of death and a donation of £5. The Charity of the Month today is Water Aid. They provide water, sanitation and hygiene - vital to those most in need - working with partners in civil society, government and the private sector. Today the Friends of Marrick Priory have an evening of song with Fourum, together with wine and cheese on arrival so that we can all spend some time in the grounds appreciating the beautiful views of Swaledale. As usual a bus will collect from Nun's Close car park, on this occasion at 5.15pm, returning around 9pm. Tickets £10 plus £3 for the bus, available from Cathy Trewby (824468) and Judith Clarke (826793).


Christian Aid Week 14-21 May There is a list of the streets, which St Mary's collectors try to cover, at the back of church. Please have a look at it and sign your name and phone number if you can deliver envelopes to any of the streets listed. Many thanks Anne Simpson and Judith Barber. Richmond C of E Primary and Nursery School are holding a Coffee Morning on Thursday May 11th in the Town Hall. Donations of cakes, raffle prizes or tombola are most welcome. For further details ring Margaret Emmerson on 825381. Christians in Richmond is hosting a hustings in Richmond School on Wednesday 17th May at 7pm (doors open at 6.30pm). To book a seat please ring Margaret Emmerson 825381. Flower Festival Preview Evening Friday 9th June, 6.30-9.00pm. An opportunity to be the first to view the flower exhibits freshly created. Tickets for this event will be on sale from 12 May 2017. Available from Castle Hill Bookshop, The Flower Studio, Finkle Street or Katrina Templeton. £5 to include a glass of wine and lite bite on arrival. During the evening Caroline Brannigan, Memoir writer and interviewer will present and Lucy Hutton-Smith, a local NAFAS flower arranger, will demonstrate. Flower Festival Stewards 10-18 June 2017 Would you be able to volunteer to cover part of the rota to steward the church during the festival?. The main day is Saturday 10th June 10.00am -6.00pm in one or two hour blocks of time. There is a rota at the back of the church.
