Leadership in the Outdoors

Girls dive into a whole new world of activities at Girl Scout Camp—swimming freely in lakes, working together to steer a canoe, practicing the perfect shot in archery, exploring nature during an afternoon hike, learning to cook over a fire, and cheering on friends as they challenge themselves to try new things. Girls also strengthen their skills and grow their passion for environmental stewardship through our outdoor leadership programming.

When a girl goes to camp…

 She will develop confidence in herself and her abilities.

 She will form positive identities and act ethically, honestly, and responsibly by showing concern for others.

 She will pursue activities that allow her to spend time in the outdoors.

 She will be willing to take on new challenges in the outdoors and believe in her ability to learn and succeed in these endeavors.

 She will know how to prepare for and stay safe during outdoor activities, as well as learn how to minimize her impact on the environment.

 She will recognize the importance of environmental conservation by understanding how her behaviors have an impact, enabling her to take actions to help protect the natural world.
