Bosch BMC/UX UX & Service Designer Intern September 2019- January 2020
What I have done & What I learned As a Service-UX Designer intern at Bosch during the Fall of 2019, I worked five months (September 2019 - January 2020) on multiple projects with a multidisciplinary team composed by Product Designer, Interaction Designer, Design strategist, and User Researcher.
4 20
As a Service designer in the office, I was given the fantastic opportunity to use my skills at every stage of the project, fully collaborating with the team on different projects. I took part in activities ranging from pure user research on the field, to ideation and organization of workshop activities for prototyping and refining the project. I’ve learned how to work with the users in every part of the project, mapping user experience, and ideating workshops to involve different stakeholders in the design process. Thanks to my Service Design background and personal passion for Information Design, I was responsible for the ideation of many diagrams and maps to synthesize the user research and stimulate the ideation phase.

#ANALYZE Projectual Objectives I prefer to keep the final objective of the project secret, but the process has been very interesting and stimulating. Process In the picture to the side, you can see one of the maps to be made, which analyses one of the competitors at each service stage. Maps similar to this were made for the leading competitors. Thanks to this tool, it was possible to hold a meeting with the client, where the competitors’ models could be clearly understood at the same time, and the future service could be designed upon them.

Loneliness EXPERIENCE DESIGN Spring 2019
Brief The main goal of this project is to define the concept of loneliness, develop a definition and understand the nature and essence of the topic. We conducted interviews and observations to do issue mapping, which was a totally new tool to learn. From the issue mapping we came to a problem statement which helped us formulate the central idea and have the final hypothesis for the project.
4 20
Problem Statement Elders who lack trust in others and themselves lose their purpose and faith in life through problems in the interaction process and lack of accessibility to social environment, which leads to low self-confidence and high insecurity. Project Hypothesis It’s essential to create a system of thrustworthy environment which provides an easy access to activities for all elders. It must enlarge their social circle and by continuos learning to broaden elders’ horizon, growing their self confidence and empower their autonomy.

#ANALYSIS Projectual Objectives Following the analysis of the main functionalities and the comparison with competitors, some critical issues have emerged on which to intervene. Many pages had very long scrolls, which have been reduced and the information has been removed. In addition, a quick task section has been created that is tailored to the user, where he can find with a simple click the features of the site he uses most. Website Re-Design The new site respects the graphic elements of the posts but improves their usability in the different sections examined.

SHIWU SERVICE/UX DESIGN 2020
Brief Design a WeChat Official Account for SHIWU Service What is SHIWU? Shiwu éŁ&#x;ć‚&#x; is a product service system made of a communal space, a network of ghost kitchens, and a digital counterpart that connects the many stakeholders and touchpoints and serves as an educational platform and e-commerce.
6 20
Main Functionalities of WeChat Official Account The digital component of our service has four main sections that we can see on the Homepage: 1- Blog: News and upcoming events are described in the central part of the homepage 2- About: This section encompasses our mission and values and how the service works. 3- Shiwu Food: In this part, there are our menu, our farmers/producers, and our recipes. Our recipes section collects contributions from both chefs and members of the community.Members of the community can suggest plant-based recipes (doable with local ingredients) from their country to build an interactive map full of knowledge and cultures of people joining together for good food and a better future. 4- Shiwu Knowledge: In this part, the users can find workshops and events scheduled in the next months and book their participation. In case the event is on payment, it is also possible to pay through our platform.

#PROTOTYPE Prototype After having developed and visualized the concept, the Author decided to plan a prototyping session to test the project with the final user. We decided to test the Wechat Official account with the main target: A young chinese student and an Expat student living in Shanghai. The testing session aimed at trying the usability of the digital platform to gain feedback on the entire project, with the scope of turning the comments into further improvement for the final development.
7
The session is structured in three main stage: - Brief recap of the project -Usability test -Final User evaluation and feedback session
20
To supprt this process the user developed a prototype of the Wechat Official Account on “Figma - an interface design application that runs in the browser. On this application the user can make suggestions and leave comments directly on the canvas, and the author can implemet it right there and then.

How does it work? In universities and residential complex: The Vending machines are instored in dedicated spaces, where users can identify through the app. The two scenarios have a main difference: in University the bottles are given empty, to fill at the water distributor, in residential complex bottles are provided filled. After the usage, users have to bring back the bottles in specific bins, where bottles are preparated to be re-used. For the restaurants, our platform provides, a service of water analysis, in order to certify the quality of the water, and customized bottles MayorBlue.

#CO-DESIGN Projectual Objectives How may we create a better comfortable enviroment for these caregivers coming to niguarda with the help of the local community? Process Design thinking guided us through the whole double diamond process. The desk and field research consisted in multiple interviews of caregivers, hospital staff and co-designing with locals and associations and finally mapping Niguarda anew helped us to gain a scrupulous overview of the territory and community. For the ideation phase we developed a journey map and then went deeper by new prototypes, interviews and co-design, it helped us to cut the fat and iterate the user journey. For solving the doubts we developed some prototypes to try our ideas on the field. The consequent work in thinking each step in the user journey helped to smoothen the service and develop touchpoints. Later, the doubts are solved by hypothesis driven prototypes and solutions are introduced in the user journey. To pilot the project we use the theatrical testing of the service with real end-users.

How does it work T.Ospito? The solution foresees optimisation of the district’s potential: the community of volunteers of Niguarda, the multiple active associations and plenty of small businesses which will be welcoming the newcomers. Our Service provide to the caregivers a reference person (amico di quartiere), thanks to that, they will instantly feel more secure and will have the opportunity to be acknowledged with the activities offered by associations. Amico di quartiere will be selected by an online call and then trained to provide support as a buddy. Moreover, by paying a fee the caregivers will be offered a discount card within local facilities and small businesses. By implementing this project Niguarda will build an image of an inclusive district. This will contribute to emotional wellbeing of the caregivers and will empower the society. Future Steps The project is going on, taking part to the second call of DesignScapes. The next steps will be a prototype session in the neighbourhood and a revision of the old business modeling.

OPPORTUNITY
How does it work? The Visualization: The circle is divided in two main part. One rapresent the Incidence, on ethe mortality. Both of these are then analized according their causes and divided for different region in China. Thanks to this visualization we can understand which one are the main causes in every region and create a taylor-made plan to reduce incidence and mortality. The Platform: “It says “smoking kills” on every box o cigarettes. In oncology, smoking is called a behavioral risk factor. While it can be considered common knowledge that smoking cause lung cancer, other risk factors are more hidden. Nutrition for instance, can increase the risk of lung cancer significantly, as well as enviromental factor, such as air pollution. “Lung of China” is both research and information platform, for you to safe lives by contributing to science and to learn about different risk facors in your region and across the country.
