Their song Awkward reached number 7 on Triple J's Hottest 100 and has played repeatedly on Vodafone's ad. This band is the one and only San Cisco. The band consists on Scarlett the drummer and vocals, Jordi the lead vocals and guitarist, Nick the bassist and Josh the drummer and guitarist. These 4 all come from Fremantle in Perth and have grown up together and also went to the same school. They became friends when they shared common interests, mainly music and making music. At first it was just Scarlett who had been learning guitar since year 9 and Jordi who were in the band, because they were childhood friends. Their band was called Real Life Animators, it was then renamed the Flairz. They then added Josh to the band. Jordi and he became close friends when they would hang out by the skate park and by the beach. It was then in 2009 that they all came together and formed King George. This was then later changed to San Cisco which also apparently has “a very long story behind it", Jordi stated, it was also a catchy name. They released their first EP Golden Revolver in 2010 and got outstanding reviews and was played over in the USA. In 2011 they were then signed by Albert Productions who also has signed artist like Megan Washington and Hungry Kids of Hungary. San Cisco was also asked to play at FUSE festival which is held in Adelaide, BIGSOUND in Brisbane and also at Big Day Out, Laneway and Groovin the Moo. Later in 2012 they released Awkward. They were then known for their catchy tunes, quirky lyrics and their loveable music videos. They were then played on Triple J, nominated and won Triple J’s Unearthed Award. They later ended with Albert Productions and were signed by Fat Possum Productions with a partnership with RCA in late 2012. Their other achievements include Awkward winning the ‘Most Popular Single’ and ‘Most Popular Music Video’ at the WAMI (Western Australian Music Industry) Awards in 2012, their hits Wild Things and Fred Astaire also made it into Triple J’s Hottest 100 in 2012. Wild Things coming 53rd and Fred Astaire coming 48th .It was also in December 2012 Triple J announced that their listeners had voted San Cisco as number 10 on the ‘Listeners Top 10 Albums Poll’. Now in 2013 they have their album San Cisco and many other songs, they are also on their international tour Beach. The Beach Tour started in May; they have travelled many places such as South and North America, the UK, Europe and of course all around Australia. They are also performing at festivals such as Queenscliff Music Festival and just performed at Lollapalooza.

Summer Essentials Summer is here girls and of course there essentials that you will need to make you look and feel fab over the summer break! o Books and magazines. Magazines and books are a must over the holidays. They are fantastic to take to the beach or just to read by the pool, they are also a great way to waste time if you have a spare day free. Magazines are also great to keep up with the latest trends and fashion; they are always an excuse to go shopping! o Sunglasses are a must have over the holidays and for summer. Firstly they are helpful in the blazing hot sun but also sunglasses are cute, you can’t help but love them. There are so many styles of sunglasses that you are bound to find a pair that will suit you. Sunglasses are a great accessory and can make a whole outfit. o Obviously bathers are an essential for summer. We are in love we Triangl bathers they are super comfy and look amazing on anyone. We also adore bathers from brands such as Minkpink, Mambo and Tigerlily. Get bathers that you will love but also feel comfortable and confident in because you will want to be able to rock those bathers all summer long o For those girls out there whose hair gets all dry and strawy in summer Moroccan Oil will be your hero for the summer. Moroccan Oil is fab for your hair and leaves it smooth, non-frizzy and a lovely shine to it. All you do is apply some to the ends of your hair when it’s wet and your hair dry. o Whether it is a professional, digital, phone, Polaroid or disposable, cameras are also a must for summer. Cameras one of the best ways to keep memories over your summer holidays, they are easy to take around and are purely amazing.

Books Please Ignore Vera Dietz by A.S KingVera has been in love with her best friend and neighbour Charlie and has kept many of his secrets over the years of them being friends. Charlie then changes and drifted away causing Vera to then hate him. It is when he dies under dark and suspicious ways that everything goes wrong, Vera knows a lot more than anybody else, even the police. Does Vera want to clear his name though? Will she? It’s gripping, it’s heartbreaking (you’ll cry your heart out), and you will not stop reading, it’s unforgettable.
Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David LevithanDash and Lily’s Book of Dares is a cheerful book that will leave a smile on your face. It is the most unlikely of books with a great story line. The book is about Lily who leaves a book full of dares for a person and Dash happens to pick it up; they continue to exchange the book with notes and dares. But will they ever meet? It is an enjoyable read that catches you from the first chapter. An Abundance of Katherine’s by John GreenLike all of John Green’s books An Abundance of Katherine’s wonderful novel. It features the characters Hassan, Lindsey Wells and Colin who has a love for girls with the name Katherine all spelt in that manner. Once Colin has been dumped by Katherine XIX, Hassan, as Colin’s best friend, decided he needs a break and they go on a road trip where the meet Lindsey. Colin is a child prodigy and feels that to maintain his name as a ‘genius’ he needs to have a ‘eureka moment’ and his inspiration comes from the long line of Katherine’s. This book is witty, funny and overall enjoyable; you will not be able to put it down.

Music Triple J- Like a Version 9Triple J is known for their fab Like a Version’s every Friday morning and finally volume 9 has come out with great covers by Hermitude, Vance Joy, Tame Impala and who could forget San Cisco’s cover of Daft Punks Get Lucky. AM Arctic MonkeysWords cannot describe the love I have for this album, love is even an understatement. The song’s it contains is just right and has slow songs and some good old rock type ones, but they are just so fab. It is just perfect and has no flaws. Go buy it. Go buy it now! Learn to Exist, The Jungle GiantsOmg this album is actually to die for; from the first track Come and Be Along With Me you will never stop listing to this album. Sam’s vocals, Keelan’s drums, Cesira’s guitar solos and Andrew’s guitar skills all mush perfectly together to make this faultless album. There are fun, boppy songs that will make you dance all around and slow songs like Devil’s in the Details that will melt your heart away. We recommend you go buy this album right now!

Movies 10 Things I Hate About You: Adapted from the Shakespeare story Taming of the Shrew, 10 Things I Hate About You will leave you in love and wanting a love story like this one. Kat reads Sylvia Plath, always has an opinion and doesn’t care about dating. This is until she meets her complete opposite, Patrick Verona. Staring the dreamy Heath Ledger and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, its fab, it’s funny and overall heart-warming.
The Way, Way Back: The Way, Way Back is just a loveable story about a kind of socially awkward boy called Duncan who has the summer of his life down at his mothers, boyfriend’s summer house. Trent, his mother’s boyfriend gives him a hard time and finds it hard to fit in. Duncan meets Owen who is much older than him but they develop a friendship like no other. Duncan gets a job from Owen and this leads to Duncan’s summer that will leave you envious. This movie is great if you want a laugh but it will also make you shed a tear or 20. 42/Reviews
The To-Do List: Brandy has no sexual experience, so before she heads off to college she is determined to do everything including losing her virginity to Rusty Waters the ‘college hunk’. This movie is set in 1993 which makes it have a unique aspect and cool clothes. With the help of her best friends Fiona and Wendy will she complete the list? The To-Do List will leave you in stitches from laughing so much but it will make you cringe with embarrassment.

Audrey Hepburn If I could go back in time and meet anyone in the world, I would meet Audrey Hepburn. She was a caring and giving woman who was generous to everyone and helped people in need. She was born on the 4th of May in 1929 in Brussels, Belgium. This area that she lived in was hit by the Nazi’s in World War 2 and her mother and her struggled to live at times but they got through it together. She joined the ballet in Amsterdam and then in London. This led her to being extras in some Broadway shows including Gigi at the age of 22. This led her to be in the movie The Roman Holiday with Gregory Peck 2 years later. From this performance she won an Academy Award for Best Actress in 1953. Audrey then stared in Sabrina and Odine which she won a Tony Award for and also where she met her first husband, Mel Ferrer, she also had her first
son with Mel. She stared in Fun-
ny Faces, How to Steal a Million, My Fair Lady and her most famous role as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s in 1961. Holly Golightly became one of the 20th century’s cinemas most iconic characters. After divorcing Mel, she married Andrea Dotti which she had her second son with. This was later ended because Andrea had apparently been having affairs with younger women. Audrey’s last film she did was Always in 1988 with Richard Dreyfuss. Along came Robert Wolders a Dutch author who stole her heart. They lived together not married but as partners for a long nine years. She was asked why they weren’t married and she replied that she was married to him in her eyes. She even said they were the happiest years of her life. Audrey wasn’t just amazing in her

acting career but she was great with helping people. She was the ambassador for the UNICEF and dedicated her remaining time to helping the world’s poorest nations. In 1992 President George Bush presented her with the Presidential Medal of Freedom and was also awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. The 20th of January 1993 was the day that Audrey Hepburn died of a rare appendix cancer. The thing that makes Audrey Hepburn such an inspiration is that she went for her dreams and made such a big impact on the world. She helped many poor countries by buying solar boxes so medicine could be delivered to villages in the desert. Audrey was like every other women, Andrea said in an interview “She thought she had a big nose and big feet, and she was

too skinny and not enough breast. She would look in the mirror and say, ‘I don’t understand why people see me as beautiful.’ ” Audrey was unique, had her own special style and was a great inspiration to all. That’s why if I could go back in time and meet anyone in the world, I would meet Audrey Hepburn.
