Our goal is to combine all the buildings of the University of the Arts campus and turn them into two new sustainable structures. The two new sustainable buildings will be next to each other on the same site which will open up five new lots on South Broad Street giving opportunity for new eco-friendly projects. The proposal will promote a new environment for Philadelphia where programs can be integrated into larger buildings and become more multi functional. Multi functional allows for a new perspective of how city living can look like.

Design 8 semester the projects intent is to develop and display a comprehensive understanding of building systems, technical drawings, and coordination within a group setting. Our design task was to redesign a teaching and research chemistry laboratory for Princeton University on the site of the current Frick chemistry lab while applying site analysis data to the design. Driving our design development was “Programmatic spaces that overlap to create hubs that encourage collaboration.”
Taking in cool air in the summer naturally cooling the building, then it vents the air through the labs fume hoods.
