Isler Gysel Architekten During my experience at Isler Gysel Architekten, I had the possibility to experiment the work in a office. Working in a small office I had the possibility to work on several different tasks like the materialization of the fassade of the NHOJ (Neue Hotel Judiciaire, in La Chaux de Fonds, the development of the artificial and daily lighting). In this way I was asked to develop and to study different several physical models, working mainly on a 1:20, 1:50 scale, and developing 2D drawings. An other part of my work in the office was helping in the develpment of competition we did( Lausanne EVAM, 1st price, Julio Magus competition still on going), doing physical models with different materials, 3d models and working for some other, more technical tasks (SIA 416, technical drawings).

Informal Urbanism, Al Husn, Jordan In Al-Husn Camp project I focused on a playground-area that needed to be readapted and developed in a multifunctional public space. The approach was based on a urbanistic and zoomed out scale, understanding the relationship of this Camp and its possible development (especially on the border), considering it’s relationship with Al Husn village, and the possibility of growth of Irbid, the closest town. In this way I designed the area, rethinking it not like a border, but like a link, connecting different realities. Over time, the community absorbs the new space creating an attractive point for people coming even from outside the camp.

Made in Vitroilles, Vitroilles, Marseille, France. We worked in Vitroilles as a team in a festival of Architecture, to improve the public space of a deteriorated area of Vitroilles. Working on a strip close to a soccer field, we worked to create a place where to stay and where to interact with the soccer field itself: the outcome are some benches/tables that can be used like bleachers for looking at the soccer field, or a place where to sit, under the shadow in a sunny day, or where to eat. We shaped all the materials (wood, metal grids, stones) by our hands.

Otherwise Lab, Cerro Veronese, Verona, Italy The aim of the project was to readapt an old garage used for storing goods (in the countryside close to Verona) , in a joinable place , where to expose the outcome of two months of workshop: I readapted this space using cheap materials, rethinking the objects I had around in this small village, in a different and provocative way. The idea was to create a enjoyable atmosphere working on the lighting system, emphasizing the old stonewall, and using the most of time cheap wood to create different objects (library, sits, desks, lamps). All the object that we can see in this place are made by hands by myself in collaboration with an other person.

Net Berlin, Berlin, Germany Net Berlin is a way to mix together different functions related to the creative industry: how can we work on this synergy, and how can we create a new mix that don’t want to replace, but want to propose something new to the city, something emphasysing on it’s capability to mix, to share different cultures and approaches, thinking locally (the district, the city), but even globally. The city of Berlin is a city stil attracting people in itself. Each ambient (architecture office, interior design office etc.) has to be rethought, in a strong connection with other activities, replacing this categories with new ones, more flexible (workshops areas, coworking spaces, etc.) In my design I need to continue to think about the word contamination: contamination between arts and activities, and different ways to mix their own approaches. It will be really important to take in consideration what will be the metamorphosis in Berlin in the next years, and even to involve in this project younger generation. Being in contact with adults, chlidren (and then students) can have a different approach handleing, creating and interacting with objects. Objects shaped by people being in tower themselves. The tower has to involve even people coming from the district too.
