Victoria & Laurel is a start-up that manufactures hand drawn portraits to celebrate client’s milestones.
Established in 2014 in College Corner, Ohio by artist and former Peace Corps Volunteer, Jahni Ittel, aka Girl Johnny, this start-up believes that beautiful and custom art belongs in any home, despite economic level. This start-up’s goals are to provide visual trophies to celebrate the accomplishments of the clients. Jahni began creating pet portraits as a way to fund her time volunteering for the Peace Corps. While she was serving, homesickness, and loneliness fueled her interest in painting portraits of her friends. Then she began painting portraits to celebrate her friend’s accomplishments. These small gifts were so well received, she wanted to open the service to the public.

I chose Victoria because it is the Roman goddess of accomplishments, and a laurel is the leaf crown they used on olympic athletes. I want my name to represent my client’s milestones, the reason they are coming to me.
