FUNDRAISING TOOLKIT
THANK YOU FOR JOINING THE G(IRLS)20 MOVEMENT TO HELP CULTIVATE THIS GENERATION OF #YOUNGFEMALELEADERS! At G(irls)20, we make strategic investments in young women through education and training, building networks, and access to unparalleled opportunities at home and abroad. While advocating for change at the global level through the annual G(irls)20 Global Summit, we are invested in changing the status quo for women at decision-making tables in communities across Canada by placing Girls on Boards. We rely on our partnerships and generous donors to continue amplifying the voices of young women. Looking to fundraise for G(irls)20? Here are some ideas!

OUR IMPACT
In advance of the G20 Summit each year, 20+ young women from across the globe are chosen to participate in a unique opportunity to gather together for a week of leadership training, social enterprise development and mentoring by female leaders in the business and public sectors. At the end of the week, delegates deliver a Communiqué highlighting policies to promote young women’s economic inclusion to country leaders.
The first of its kind in Canada, Girls on Boards provides the country’s emerging female leaders with the training and one-on-one mentorship required to serve on governance boards, then places each participant on a non-profit board as a director. The program tackles two related challenges of women’s underrepresentation on boards, by building a talent pool while simultaneously supporting boards to challenge the status quo and diversify its membership.

Setting a goal will keep everyone motivated and creating a budget will help with donations and sponsorships. If you organize an event, make sure to plan for a budget for unforeseen costs! Plan in Advance Create a detailed plan for your fundraiser, and set deadlines for everything! Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to organize your fundraiser especially with the time it will take others to respond to you (think sponsors, school administration etc.). A good practice to keep track of your plan is to set up regular meetings with your team and give specific tasks and role to each member! Find your Sponsors Try to map all the needs before contacting potential sponsors. Think of the in-kind donations you can receive, those are generally easier to get!
