G(irls)20 welcomes you to the 10th annual Global Summit. 24 young women from around the world have arrived for a week of leadership training, social enterprise development and mentoring by female leaders in the business and public sectors. At the end of this week, delegates will deliver a Communiqué highlighting policies to promote young women’s economic inclusion to Ambassador Koji Tomita, Japan’s G20 Sherpa. The G(irls)20 Summit is modelled after the G20 Summit and culminates in a one-day symposium. In the room today are local and international panelists, keynotes and experts focused on the economic and social issues of women. We hope you enjoy the discussions that take place throughout the day and share our message across social media with the hashtag #Girls20Japan.

ALEXANDRA LORAS KEYNOTE SPEAKER For more than 20 years, Alexandra Loras has been striving to rebalance ethnicracial diversity across organizations by inspiring personal and professional transformations. Alexandra graduated with a Masters in Media Management from the renowned School of Political Sciences of France (IEP Paris). As a published author, consultant and speaker, she addresses themes and topics of racial justice, diversity, inclusion, political equity, gender equity and interculturalism across all platforms, bringing important discussions to forefront of society. Alexandra has been recognized in Veja magazine, Vogue magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, Folha de São Paulo and other large segmented publications. She has been a guest on many influential TV shows in Latin America and Europe. Alexandra has also participated in prominent events such as TEDxSão Paulo and other major international conferences, study centers and organizations focused on social integration. Additionally, Alexandra is an Africa Advisor for the Lula Institute. She also created the Protagonizo platform - a direct channel between the human resources departments of large companies and black bilingual workers graduating from major universities such as USP, PUC and FGV. Her lectures and workshops provoke a reflection on diversity, pointing out the unconscious biases of society to inspire positive change within individuals and across organizations.

FARAH MOHAMED G(IRLS)20 FOUNDER Farah is an award-winning social profit entrepreneur with a specific interest in empowering youth, women and diverse populations. Until recently, she was the CEO of Malala Fund. As Founder and Inaugural CEO of G(irls)20, Farah created the Annual Summit, Girls on Boards and Fathers Empowering Daughters. Represented by National Speakers Bureau / Global Speakers Bureau, she is a frequent speaker, commentator and writer on youth engagement, the economic benefits associated with inclusion, entrepreneurship and the impact of empowering girls and women through education on a country’s economy, political stability and social cohesion. Farah has negotiated partnerships with Apple, Starbucks, Citi Bank, Google, Norton Rose Fulbright, Bain & Company, VW, Sabanci Foundation, NoVo Foundation, Edelman, Nike Foundation and dozens of other private sector and public sector organizations for the advancement of girls and women. She worked on Parliament Hill for almost 10 years. Her final role was as the Director of Communications to the Deputy Prime Minister. Recognized for her service to Canada, she was awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and recently given the title of Meritorious Service Medal. She has also been recognized by BBC (Top 100 Women), Women of Influence (Top 25 Most Influential Women in Canada), SALT (100 Most Inspiring Women in the World). In 2018 she was named Top 1000 influential people in London. She holds a Bachelors and Masters in Political Science and was recently conferred with an Honorary Doctorate of Laws. Farah’s greatest physical achievements is summiting Mt Kilimanjaro.
