Hello friends! This summer I am passing the Girls Can Tell gift co. torch on to my dear friend and business partner, Adam Woods. After careful consideration and mulling things around for the past few years, I have decided to focus solely on Occasionette, my retail shops. Girls Can Tell gift co has been my full time work for almost ten years. In the past decade I’ve grown this business from printing one-off kitchen towels in the basement of my tiny rowhome to a producing dozens of new illustrations annually, collaborating with national retailers, printing and shipping thousands of tea towels each month, and working with hundreds of independent shops around the country. In the past five years, my own retail shops have also grown exponentially, and it finally feels right to me to let go of Girls Can Tell gift co. to focus on the shops. Though you may not know Adam yet, he’s been the guy behind the scenes for quite some time now. His team has been responsible for printing every towel we’ve sold in the past six years, overseeing each order that has shipped since 2015, and making even the most hairbrained of my ideas come to life on a moment’s notice. I trust him completely to take on the leadership of Girls Can Tell gift co from here, and I’m sure you’ll find him as charming, good natured, and easy to work with as I do. Please keep in touch! While I won’t be involved in the day to day of Girls Can Tell gift co anymore, I will still be actively involved in the retail community. It’s been wonderful getting to know so many of you and being inspired by your beautiful shops. Hopefully we’ll run into each other in the maze of halls in Atlanta or in the Starbucks line at the Javits. Cheers, sara

About the Illustrator:
In 2007, Sara Villari left the field of architecture in favor of building her own line of gifts featuring her original annotated illustrations. The illustrations are each hand drawn by Sara, then silkscreened by hand by her local printing partners before they’re shipped out into the world. When she’s not drawing, Sara owns and curates Occasionette, a gift shop with two award winning locations in the Philadelphia area. She lives in Collingswood, NJ with her husband and a very old puppy named Janie.
