Explore summer at camp and create beautiful works of art with your friends! Campers will explore the beauty of the outdoors to gain inspiration for a week full of nature-inspired art projects. Capture your own beautiful summer landscape on a slice of a tree, build your own instruments for an outdoor concert, or begin to write your own story or play inspired by the world around you. Campers will also learn what a Girl Scout can do to help the outdoors. Not only will she have her own beautiful art, but she will earn her Outdoor Art badge as well!

Double, Double, Toil and Trouble

Your owl has arrived! Board the train, grab your magical broomstick, and fly to camp! Attend classes such as astronomy, potions, magical defense, herbology, and wizard sports. Complete in the all-camp Tournament of Magic and earn points for your favorite magical house. Put your spells and outdoor skills to the test as you explore the ins and outs of the camp’s witches and wizards.

Do You Dare?

You are stranded at camp! Can you make it through the weekend? Your tent will team up against others to overcome obstacles, learn navigation and wilderness survival skills, fire and shelter building, first aid, and more! Through exciting daily challenges and scavenger hunts, you will be challenged to put your skills to the test! Do you dare climb to the final crate in crate stacking, try exotic cuisine, and take a canoe out for a nighttime boat ride? Each camper will face off in the final challenge to see who will earn the title of Ultimate Survivors!

The Great Camp Bake-Off

Does your camper have a taste for culinary arts? Do they enjoy cooking over the campfire and wish to hone their skills? Here is the chance to create something delicious in the camp-wide cooking challenge! There will be more pack out meals, secret ingredients to use, and a new menu to utilize all types of outdoor cooking equipment—from pie irons to Dutch ovens and more! Campers will earn progress towards their culinary badges.

Inspector Girl Scout

Explore camp through the mind of a detective. Communicate in code, take fingerprints, and problem-solve the wacky crimes occurring around Camp Dean. While your sleuthing skills and knowledge will be put to the test, you will also be challenged in archery, canoe races, and other fun camp activities! During the crime scene-themed campout, you will earn credit towards your Detective badge.

Lost in Space

Embark on your own out-of-this-world adventure at space camp! Venture through the atmosphere with a week of space-themed STEM projects. Spend the days learning about clouds and nights learning about constellations. You may even get to spend a night sleeping under the stars! Plus, you’ll earn credit towards the Girl Scout Space badges!

Love, Beauty, and Planet

You will explore the natural beauty found around Camp Dean! As you learn about the prairie plants and little critters, you’ll discover ways to sustain the environment. The week will be filled with additional outdoor activities such as hiking, orienteering, and observing everything around you. Learn about Leave No Trace and become an environmental advocate! You will even earn credit towards your Environmental Stewardship badge and Naturalist badge.

Passport to Adventure

Learn everything you need to know about basic camping skills! Learn what it takes to camp out on the back trails of the mountains, in the snowy north, or on a costal beach! Practice your tent building skills, fire building, knot tying, and more! Activities from this week will help fill partial requirements for all Girl Scout level-specific Camping badges and GSNI’s 8 Basic Outdoor Skills program.

Slay the Dragons

Transform camp into your own world and collaborate with your unit to write your own adventure! Utilize your camping skills and live on the primitive side as you hunt treasure like a pirate, outrun the zombies, partake on quests for the gnomes, and be a hero to your own story! Campers will make progress towards their Storytelling badges.

SciCamp

What is a citizen scientist? How do they make observations and collect data? Learn how to make every tree count, observe clouds, and learn why it’s important to think like a citizen scientist and what they do! During the week, campers will make progress towards their Think Like a Citizen Scientist Journey. Girl Scouts will need to complete a Take Action project on their own after completing this session.

Water Works

Spend the long summer days by the poolside discovering the wonders of water! Take a canoe out for a waterfront picnic or build a slip and slide right into the mud pit. Play water games throughout camp while learning about aquatic life. Explore what we love about the water and the steps we can take to help preserve it!
