Here at Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways, we’re excited to share the mission of Girl Scouting every day with every girl who wants to participate! Each year, we challenge ourselves to provide innovative solutions and opportunities to improve the girl experience and provide exceptional support to our adult volunteers. This past member year, we started new community-based troops with partners—such as Pretty Girls Rock, the American Civic Association and Casey’s Place—through funding from the Allen Foundation, Harriet Ford Dickenson Trust, Triad Foundation and the O’Connor Foundation. We’re also grateful to the 13 United Ways in Central and Upstate New York and the Southern Tier which collectively provided over $100,000 to help us bring the gift of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls who may not have had the opportunity otherwise. To support our growth, we created opportunities for improved and accessible member communication through the use of tools—like the new Let’s Chat function on our council website. We subscribed to Doubleknot, an online registration platform, to help make signing up for training, programs and events and booking properties smoother and more user-friendly. In addition to the Program Guides we produce twice a year, we added publications such as the Family Guide to Girl Scouts and New Leader Guide to help better inform, support and educate our members. We continued to make enhancements to our properties. We reopened Hoover Adventure Center and improved its beach area for a new summer day camp experience. At Amahami, work was done to improve Pat’s Craft Shop. Brand new docks were installed at Comstock Adventure Center on Cayuga Lake. At Trefoil, new bathrooms, a brand-new game room and high elements for the ropes course were added. In addition to purchasing maintenance equipment for all of our properties, new 12-passenger vans were added to our fleet to introduce further support for our members who live far from our Service Centers though mobile programming and traveling stores. We introduced new events and programming, like Carrying the Torch—the first Girl Scout Convention on Women’s Rights—where many alums joined us at our first-ever Torchbearers Reception. Our members participated in record numbers at events such as the Big Outdoor Badge Bash at Comstock and Holly Days at Trefoil. If 80% of success is showing up, then we are deeply indebted to you. Through your generosity of time and resources, you have given us the means to take a fresh look at our organization and to apply new thinking to everything we do.

Your Donations Make A Difference Your support stays local to GSNYPENN and has a direct impact on the lives of girls and adults across our council region. Did you know a donation to our council’s financial assistance fund helps cover the cost of favorite Girl Scout opportunities like camperships, a girl’s annual membership fee, vouchers for uniforms and patches, and travel and destinations? We are deeply appreciative of the annual support our council receives from corporations, foundations, individuals, community chests, and the United Way.
