Girls will compete in teams with their troop members (or in combination with another troop) in skills such as: archery, kayaking/canoeing, compass, jackknife skills, using a bow saw, pitching and striking a tent, cam jam and cookie case trunk pack! NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! Come have fun with other Girl Scouts at camp!

In this workshop you will design and make a wearable piece of jewelry. You will learn how to use some of the basic tools that are used in the jewelry repair industry. These same skills are commonly used by electricians, dentists, computer repair technicians and many other trade professionals. This class focuses on three (3) skills, (1) Learn to identify simple hand tools by name, (2) Demonstrate proper use of tools to wrap wire into usable shapes, and (3) Design and make a wearable piece of jewelry. Conquer Camping 2 will take your camping skills to the next level – from lodge to tent camping! We will go through the basics of tent camping including a hike with compass and navigation skills, water filtration, and Leave No Trace principles. As you take the next step as an outdoor camper, you will also gain experience in skills like campsite selection, knife and saw safety and use, fire starting and meal prep, to name a few. This program will include a snack on Friday, 3 meals and a snack on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Juniors will earn the Camper Badge and Cadettes will earn the Primitive Camper Badge (Please note that there is no Senior level Camping badge for this program.)

Adult leaders and volunteer attendees who actively participate will earn requirements necessary to take girls tent camping. Troops will spend Friday night in the lodge and Saturday night in tents.

This is a Fall themed escape room experience for younger Girl Scouts. There will be clues to find, puzzles to solve, a craft to make, and a fun patch too! Each Session will include 30 minutes in the escape room with no more than 5 Girl Scouts in each group.

Larger troops will need to register for spots in more than one session and participants will make a craft while waiting their turn for the escape room. This escape room is designed for younger girls in mind with age appropriate puzzles and surprises.

Join your sister Girl Scouts from all across GSWNY for our First-Ever International Day of the Girl!

International Day of the Girl is a day to celebrate what it means to be a girl! Hurry, limited tickets are available!

Girls: Your day will be all about earning your Global Action Award, a special She-Ro exhibit created by you, and a take action project. Girls will also get to experience one Riverworks activity, lunch, a fashion show, photo booth, mini Girl Scout Pop-Up shop and planetarium visit. She-Ro submissions will be collected prior to the event with girls creating a piece of art, poem, media, story about a special She-Ro in your life that describes that person’s super power.

Adults: Your day will be all about connection and experiences to educate and empower you. Vendor tables showcasing Girl Scout activities, presentations, giveaways and shared experiences will be provided as well as lunch. Enjoy the company of Girl Scout Leaders and parents while we chaperone your girls through the day. Girls and adults will meet together for lunch that is provided.

Cost covers all supplies needed for the day, one Riverworks experience, lunch, a custom International Day of the Girl patch and global Action Award badge for the girls.

Conquer Camping 2 will take your camping skills to the next level – from lodge to tent camping! We will go through the basics of tent camping including a hike with compass and navigation skills, water filtration, and Leave No Trace principles. As you take the next step as an outdoor camper, you will also gain experience in skills like campsite selection, knife and saw safety and use, fire starting and meal prep, to name a few. This program will include a snack on Friday, 3 meals and a snack on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Juniors will earn the Camper Badge and Cadettes will earn the Primitive Camper Badge (Please note that there is no Senior level Camping badge for this program.)

The art of knotting and braiding has been used for hundreds of years and is a valued skill for hunters, boaters and fashion designers. When you’ve earned this badge, you will know how to use a basic tool to transform flat braiding material into a useful object. This class focuses on three skills:

(1) Learn to prepare a braiding disc tool for square knot and spiral braiding, (2) Learn the names and techniques for shaping basic knots, and (3) Design a functional tool, such as a key chain, bookmark, or bracelet. You'll learn to mount the equipment and make fun shapes while challenging your strength and flexibility in a light-hearted environment. Circus and the aerial arts can help foster better body awareness, healthy habits, self-confidence, and amazing friendships. At The Bird's Nest Circus Arts, you'll be dabbling in both ground and aerial circus activities. You might try your hand at something like juggling or plate spinning, flower sticks or poi. After a fun warm-up, you'll take to the sky on a variety of apparatuses such as hammock, split silks, and lyra. You'll learn to mount the equipment and make fun shapes while challenging your strength and flexibility in a light-hearted environment.

Circus and the aerial arts can help foster better body awareness, healthy habits, self-confidence, and amazing friendships. For your comfort, we suggest you wear close-fitting, full-length pants and a shirt that covers your underarms and midsection. You may need to remove your socks on the fabric apparatuses. Remember to bring a water bottle to keep yourself hydrated.

Girls will have a choice of a 4 season tent to themselves with Zero Degree sleeping bags and additional insulating gear, or a group canvas wall tent with wood burning stove for additional warmth throughout the night.
