#CelebrateChangemakers2022
EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE A special thank you to our innagural Executive Leadership Committee for making tonight's event possible.
3
Thank you for joining us tonight for our first hybrid Celebrate Changemakers event. We are gathering tonight—in person and online—to give every girl the power to change the world. At Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys we are grateful for so much. As this year continues to provide challenges, we remain thankful to our caring community for supporting our incredible mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. This year has tested and demonstrated our resilience. All of you with us tonight at home and in person have done so much to support each other and adapt to our COVID world, while also confronting a year of devastating racism and loss. In 2020 as COVID hit, schools closed throughout our communities and girls faced one disappointment after another. We asked, what do girls need and how can Girl Scouts best help? We focused on sisterhood and belonging, physical and emotional wellbeing, empowerment, and supporting skill-building and planning that encourages hope for the future. Our girls told us that they want Girl Scouts to be a safe space for ALL girls—to share ideas, learn about our differences, and discover common ground on the issues that divide us. This past year, we have taken steps to ensure that all girls and families in our diverse Minnesota and Wisconsin communities know that they belong. Tonight’s Changemaker Honorees, Kileyah and Katherine, demonstrate the incredible impact that girls can have on our communities. And how Girl Scouts provides a place for them to learn and grow, fail and try again—all in a supportive environment designed just for them. Tonight, you can make a difference in the life of a girl by investing in her development and future. Your financial support tonight at any level will give girls the opportunity to explore everything Girl Scouts has to offer, so they can have a place to embrace their unique strengths and passions, a place where they can develop leadership skills, advocate for themselves and others, and realize their dreams. Your contribution will ensure all girls are able to take advantage of the Girl Scout Experience! Our life-changing program inspires and empowers our girls to change the world, one girl at a time…one day at a time!

Girl Scouts River Valleys’ Celebrate Changemakers signature fundraising event raises critical funds for Girl Scouts River Valleys and the Girl Scout Movement. Investing in girls is an investment in Changemakers. By coming together to raise $500,000 we are supporting the success of individuals and our community. We can do this with your help!
$500,000 will support tens of thousands of Changemakers by providing... ► STEM programs to nearly 20,000 girls around our region with life-changing, hands-on, all-girl experiences. ► Leadership opportunities that support girls’ lifetime of success, including the Girl Scout Gold Award, where girls channel their leadership and passion to develop innovative solutions to society’s most pressing challenges. ► Volunteers with training and support to build girls of courage, confidence, and character— Changemakers. Volunteers serve as role models, introduce girls to new experiences, and help girls realize their dreams. ► Financial assistance to 1 in 5 girls, ensuring that a family’s financial situation is never a barrier to becoming a Changemaker! $500,000 fuels the best leadership development experience for girls in the world. Girl Scouts are the girl experts and with over 110 years of experience, we will continue to empower every girl to lead in their world. Thank you for investing in girls. Thank you for being a part of Celebrate Changemakers, for being a part of Girl Scouts, and for being a part of the leadership journey of our nearly 20,000 Girl Scouts.

Meet your Chef and Mixologist team: Sarah Mittlestad, Chef, Girl Scout River Valleys' Alum & Gold Award Girl Scout Farm Table Foundation
Sarah Mittelstadt is the Chef at Farm Table Foundation, a nonprofit restaurant in Amery, WI, that seeks to connect diners to seasonal, sustainable, and local eating. Sarah studied Food Systems at the University of Minnesota but fell in love with feeding people as she learned to sling bison burgers and Thai curry from the Chef Shack food truck in Minneapolis. For her, the food at Farm Table restaurant brings full circle the relationship between farmers and the land that she studied in school and the good and nourishing food she learned to surround herself with. She is absolutely committed to a homesteader’s kitchen model that creatively preserves and utilizes local fruits, vegetables, grains, and animals throughout the year. Sarah also places great importance on food that is imbued with cultural tradition and meaning—which she immerses herself in through travel (Thailand, Norway, Ireland, Costa Rica and more). When she’s not in the kitchen, Sarah loves to spend time practicing yoga, being by the river, cross-country skiing and hanging out with family and friends.
"I became interested in food and culture through my experience as a Girl Scout. Girl Scouts allowed me to explore and follow my passions." - Chef Sarah Mittlestad
Jackie Montpetit - 45th Parallel Distillery Jackie Montpetit is the Sales Manager at 45th Parallel Distillery. She was born and raised in New Richmond where she watched the origin and evolution of the distillery from a young age. Jackie joined the 45th Parallel team in 2020. In her free time, you’ll find Jackie canoeing, cross-country skiing, or planning her next international adventure. 45th Parallel is a family-owned and operated craft distillery that opened in 2007 and is based in New Richmond, Wisconsin. 15
