After the successful closing of a commissioned Pollock-type work, a conversation between the artist and customer led to the following hypothetical question: What value would be placed on an abstract work of art by an anonymous artist at a fundraiser such as Bruiser Bash? which led to the painting titled “Spirit of 1906.” The tricolored plus white acrylic paint reflects the GPS colors and other preparatory school traditional colors, and the title pays respect to the school’s founding date. The 40” x 30” canvas is signed at lower left by “the anonymous donor” who has donated and gifted artworks that are scattered across the country and state.
