Why Choose GPS Summer Camp for Your Girl? TURN THE PAGE
Throughout the school year, GPS instills the values of honor, respect, curiosity, individuality, and relationships in hundreds of girls. During the summer, our campus becomes a dynamic environment where young girls can grow in their love of sports, gain the confidence that comes from learning a new skill, and build cherished friendships.
What will she discover THIS SUMMER?
Let her discover what she can experience at GPS Summer Camp. The following pages detail our most popular camps, so she can see what to expect from each.
At GPS Summer Camp, your daughter can spend her entire summer learning, playing, laughing, and meeting new friends. Or perhaps she just wants to come for a week or two (or more!)? However you choose to plan your summer, we are here for her.
We harness our resources and expertise in educating girls to provide an experience they’ll love. With a variety of camps from which to choose, your girl will find something to not just keep her busy but keep her engaged—from experimenting in the lab or kitchen, to playing lacrosse or a violin.
It’s easy to build her summer at GPS.edu/Summer. Simply combine halfday camps or choose all-day signature or specialty camps. Before- and aftercamp care can ensure your daughter has fun while you work. Campers attending full-day camps and enrolled in extended care may arrive as early as 7:40 a.m. and stay as late as 5:30 p.m. for an additional $10 per day. Campers not registered for extended care who arrive before 8 a.m. and/or stay past 4 p.m. will automatically be charged a $10 fee. Special pricing is also available for an eight-week camp experience. Please see page 15 for details.
For the past 45 years, GPS has been Chattanooga’s place for girls each summer. Kim Leffew has coordinated GPS Summer Camp for the past 16 years. “We’ve had the privilege of serving so many girls and their families throughout the years,” Leffew says. “And every summer we unveil new camps to ensure girls can return each year to discover and learn new skills or sports, make friends, and have the best summer ever. I only wish I could be a kid again!” 2
WHO LEADS CAMPS?
MEET OUR DIRECTOR Most of our camps are led by GPS faculty and coaches who have years of experience teaching and coaching girls. Carefully curated experts are also brought on campus to enrich our offerings in areas such as cooking and photography and for our Safe Sitter and Bricks 4 Kidz Camps. And key to your daughter’s time at camp is the interaction and mentorship she’ll receive from her counselors—GPS students who appreciate the value of girl-to-girl connections and provide bigsister moments all summer long.
