Making your Gift go Further Detailed information about tax-efficient giving is available on the College’s website (www.girton.cam.ac.uk/supporters/giving/tax-matters) or please contact the Development Office on +44 (0)1223 766672, development@girton.cam.ac.uk. Gift Aid If you are a UK taxpayer, you can increase the value of your donation at no extra cost to you by signing the Gift Aid declaration. For every £1 donated the College can reclaim 25p in tax. This means that a £1000 donation made under Gift Aid is worth £1250 to Girton. In addition, if you pay a higher rate of tax, you are able to claim personal tax relief on the difference between the higher rates of tax and the basic rate in your Self Assessment Return.

I wish my donation to support A Great Campaign for:

Financial Sustainability Payroll Giving Payroll giving is a scheme available through UK employers, which enables you to make a charitable donation directly from your gross salary. For more information, please contact your company's payroll department. Corporate Matched Giving Some companies will match donations their employees make to charities. Your payroll department will be able to tell you whether your company operates a matched giving scheme. Please quote Girton College's Registered Charity Number (1137541). Gifts of Shares Donations of shares and investments have become one of the most tax-efficient ways of giving. Income tax relief applies to gifts of quoted shares and certain other investments by individuals and companies, whether resident or not in the UK. This is in addition to the relief from capital gains tax. Certain gifts of property also attract the same tax advantages. For more information on donating shares or property to Girton then please contact the Development Office. Giving from Europe If you are a resident and paying tax in certain continental European countries, it may be possible for you to make a gift to the College tax-efficiently through Transnational Giving in Europe, www.transnationalgiving.eu. Giving from the USA US Taxpayers can give tax-efficiently to Girton College though Cambridge in America (CAm). CAm is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organisation recognised by the US Internal Revenue Service. Donations made via CAm can support the College generally or be directed to specific projects. You should indicate your preference when sending your gift to CAm. To make a donation online, or to download a gift form, please visit the Cambridge in America Giving Page, www.cantab.org/giving.html

The gift form should be sent to the following address:

Leave a Legacy I would like to receive more information about leaving a legacy to Girton College I would like to have a confidential discussion with a member of the Development Office about leaving a legacy to Girton College. I have already included a legacy to Girton College in my Will The approximate value of my bequest is £__________________________________________________ (optional) Gift Aid Declaration I am a UK taxpayer paying tax at the basic rate or above. Please treat all donations I have made in this tax year to Girton College (Registered Charity Number 1137541), and in the previous four tax years, and all donations I make from the date of this declaration, as Gift Aid donations, until I notify you otherwise.
