I was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey and am of Peruvian descent. I graduated the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2019 and have experience in small to medium sized firms focusing on commercial and residential projects. I am currently an architectural designer but also perform the duties of job captain and administrator for the Jersey City office of my current firm. The following projects are a collection of work that represents my passion for the social and visual components of architecture. Architecture school enhanced the storyteller in me. Alongside architecture, I lead a freelance videography business, STUDIO R. I am an innate visual artist, with a practical nature that draws me to detailing in construction. I see architecture as the perfect combination of engineering and art. I hope this collection of work communicates my passion for architecture and design in its many forms.

The Bastille Gallery of R(Evolution) is a cultural facility serving the city of Paris, France. This brief originates from President Macon's open international competition to intitiate conceptual thinking about a new musuem and generate public interest. Requirements include testing of preliminary building program, building structure, and cultural application as the culmination of my Bachelor of Architecture degree. The concept behind this idea is to figuratively represent France's history through the diamond shaped facade and concrete structure. The facade conforms to whims of natural sunlight, controlling the amount of light pouring into the exhibition spaces. Programmatically, the museum is fragmented into groups that enhance a museum's natural order.

B A S T I L L E G A L L E R Y O F R E V O L U T I O N The musuem sits on an irregularly shaped site, but there is opportunity in this intersection. The musuem recedes at its southeast east to engage pedestrians at the main lobby entrance. On the western front, the facade is showcased and pulls closer to the waters edge to enhance views.

The Nostrand Avenue Development is a mixed-income, mixeduse housing project in East-Flatbush,Brooklyn. A nominated NOMAS competition entry, the proposal includes mixed-income housing, commercial tenants, and community spaces with an emphasis on developing solutions to sustain the surrounding neighborhood. The brief emphasizes a focus on different unit typologies to foster diplomacy between incoming developers and the community. Our building focuses on the relationship to the context through form, programming, and architecture that respectfully integrates with the surrounding context. The form curves in at its side, to allow for public green and play. As for programming, the ground floor includes a clinic, community center, grocery store, and space for local vendors to promote their business. Alas, the building tapers down and provides an entrance to the roof to the public on the ground floor.

Professor: William Prince Type: Municipal Location: Roosevelt Island, NY, USA Programs Used: AutoCAD, Rhino, V-Ray, Illustrator, Photoshop
Roosevelt Island Health Clinic is a semester's investigation of the design of two variations of a community clinic. The brief requires the clinic to not only act as a healthcare primary facility, but also include community spaces throughout. I developed an optimized layout that creates a stacked staggered form in plan. This form also allows for outdoor spaces that act as social spaces for each program use. I believe the creation of programmable outdoor spaces to be the ultimate healthy community node. As for the facade, tinted louvres are incorporated throughout as a form of color therapy.

Aggregation + is response to a housing studio that aims to enlarge the organization of units through horizontal, vertical, or hydrid systems of order. The studio focuses on the problems facing housing typology today. What are the patterns hurting collective housing today? How can thinking differently about form address these concerns? My project is the culmination of static vertical elements and dynamic horizontal slabs that come together to form distinct floor plans throughout the building. The floor plates derive from shifting rectangles that are brought together by one central axis. This axis houses circulation and structure components, and units shift to create a structure with no two identical plates. These shifts also create playful voids where balconies stager horizontally and vertically. The shifing also creates an opportunity to meet the waters edge in a dynamic way.

ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO
Professor: Angus Eade ype: Design Build Location: Newark, NJ, USA Programs Used: Rhino, V-Ray, Illustrator, Photoshop
030
"LUMIOCITY" seeks to extend traditional masonry practices, scope, and markets through its emphasis on “light” (both in light construction and illumination). In service of the project’s occupants and the profession of masonry, the objectives include a meditation on light as well as developing applications for solving contemporary design problems beyond NJIT. This prototype for a rainscreen system redefines mortar as a “network by which things are held together” and different ways masonry units can be aggregated. Steel reinforcement serves as a stand-in for the mortar to produce a lightweight, floating effect; the steel makes for precise, accurate, and fast construction. In investigating the concepts of economies of means and economies of scale, the pre-fabrication process for this project allows for efficient onsite construction and the ability to apply this system multiple times in any location around the world. The goal is to develop and prototype new applications in the practices of masonry applications that promote and update masonry as a craft that can respond to markets in a rapidly changing world. The experiential study of light in this project is an off-the-grid lighting application which can be plugged into each aggregated unit to capture sunlight during the day and radiate ambient light at night.
