STRUCTURE OF INFRASTRUCTURE tutor:Büşra Al

Location: Golden Horn Partnered w/ Rumeysa Tıpırdamaz

When we look under the bridge, it gives us different experiences. We designed new experience areas by looking at the existing experiences in the area under the golden horn bridge. Golden horn bridge is designed as a machine as a structure. Our design is working like parazit of the infrastructure. Our parasite, changing as a function between fields. This functions such as, view Terraces,Transformation of Energy,Performative Spaces,Paper Rcycle and Garden.

EXISTING LÄ°FE ANALYSIS

Golden Horn has a large scale compared to the city scale.

Bridge offers its user an experience as if walking on the machine

It does not have a relationhip between city silhouette.

It does not have a relationhip between city silhouette

Bridges food scale is so big according to human scale

Also it

t provides sectional relationship.

View of the city without the Golden Horn.

View of the city with the Golden Horn.

Golden Horn only relates to the ground with feets.

We decided to make the ınfrastructure even more structural

We decided to design a crosssection of bridge to create more relationshıp between ground.

We added more ınfrastructure to bridge.

VIEW TERRACES In that place people were sitting here so we placed view places to here

ENERGY TRANSFORMATION In that place we established an energy system that takes water from the sea and returns it as fresh air. Also this system is provide solar energy and wind energy. As a result infrastructure can provide experience of the energy transformation when people walking on the bridge. transformation when people walking on the bridge.

PERFORMATIVE SPACES In that place we have an ancient wall so we created a space in front of the wall to open to wall for users. Because ancient wall just used from homeless people. So we tried tocreate public space in front of the wall.

GARDEN and PAPER RECYLE In that place we have a people from they are earning their money from paper. So we laced paper recyle to here. Also we placed a garden in front of he ancient wall.

PARKING GARAGE AND ART MUSUEM IN STREET EXTENSION tutor:Büşra Al

Location:Perşembe Pazarı, Karaköy This landscape is between the tersane street and the narrow streets opening to the sea. These narrow streets showing to us as perşembe pazarı life. People park their cars in empty spaces where they can find them. And even the ruined building is used as a car park. In this project, existing ruins buildings on different streets were settled. These buildings have different functions. Extensions from the existing buildings to the core structure were provided to transform them into different experiences and functions. And then street extension was provided on the ground floor of the core building.

360 DEGREES HOUSE tutor:Boran Ekinci

Location: Zekeriyakรถy, IST The house was designed in a land with a large forest area. The house is designed for a family of 2 old and 2 children. The most important feature is relationship of house with forest. Thanks to the house is 360 degrees and the use of glass, the border of interior space and out garden has been removed. It is designed that indoor spaces can be used together with 2 children and 2 adults. Also, it was designed its own private spaces.

Moving glass were used on the ground floor. Also, the inner courtyard surrounded by moving glass. In this way, the inner courtyard and the out garden could be included in the house. The first floor is a eaves to the outer garden. Public areas are designed on the ground floor. no isolation for areas was used on the ground floor. and flexible and transformable spaces were designed with the furniture axle. The circulation provides access to the individual areas directly upstairs with two different stairs. On the 1.floor, there are individual areas of children and adults. these areas are positioned in two different area so that they can be used comfortably.

3 EXPERIENCE AND WELCOMING CENTER IN BELGRADE tutor:Alı Dur, Aslıhan Demirtaş

Location:Belgrad Forest, IST We first walked the route in Belgrade. 3 different experience areas were designed according to our experience in the forest. And 3 different lands were chosen according to our field of experience. These experience spaces are designed for moving platforms, cabins, and viewpoints. And then a welcome center was designed for these spaces.

are connected to each other, so allowing them to move with weight so that people can experience the forest from different heights and frames.

SNAIL PAVILION tutor: Sabri Gömen, Efe Gözen, Burcu Biçer

Partnered w/ Rana Alkan, Merve Özcan, Buğçe Akdoğan, Dilan Korkmaz, Belit Ünlütürk The project is part of a successful research pavilion that demonstrates the potential of new design, simulation and production processes in architecture. It aims to integrate the performance capacity of biological structures into architectural design and to fully test the resulting spatial and structural material systems. Due to the geometric displacement of the plate components and the parametrically generated modules with the Grasshopper in a certain proportion, the focus was on the development of a modular system that provides a high degree of adaptability and performance. In this process, a computational design method was developed in order to design the desired form and then to determine and arrange the order of consecutive and angular systems on the module. The modules are connected to each other in terms of the system and a structural form with structural bearing is obtained. The purpose of the pavilion is to offer an individual experience in one side, and promise to live a shared experience space from the other side. Thanks to the curvy form of the pavilion, the open space and single isolate cabin can work together. Also, the relationship of the use of light with form has a great importance in designing the experience. Isolated space is wrapped with modules and it gets less light because it is high, but the open space gets better with light because it is low.

KHAS CAR PARK TO GREEN GARDEN COMPETITION

SUMMER 2018

STRUCTURAL GARDEN tutor: Tutku Sevinç

Location:KHAS Car Park , IST Partnered w/ Merve Özcan,Rumeysa Tıpırdamaz, Aylin Kanar The competition is the green space design of the open area of Kadir University used as a car park. The project has been designed as a scaffolding system that can be spread on landscape and easy to install. The advantages of the scaffolding system were used. The scaffolding system, which provides flexible spaces, has been transformed into social, individual, exhibition, concert, theather areas and sometimes work areas. Also, the areas on the ground, except for the hard ground, are created by considering that they are completely grass. And small slopes were created. In this way, green seating areas were created

PIER AND EXHIBITION AREA tutor: Tutku Sevinรง

Location :Bebek , IST We have designed a ferry pier that can provide sea transportation for the bebek and also a pier that can be used as an exhibition space. The project started to be designed thinking the water actions. Its relationship with water was an important feature of this project. For this reason, the exhibition area and pier were designed thinking its relationship with water. And sea waves became important for this project design.

COLLAGE FROM THE EXHIBITION AREA

Circular units can return with a water wave, thanks to the water waves that occur while the ferry approaches.

Circles were placed vertical to the ferry to make the most of the waves. The walking track was designed to offer the option of passing from inside and outside the circle. Some beams have been extended to allow the ferry to be included in the building.
