The Old World charm of leaded glass is now available for your Entrance Door System. Chose from an extensive collection commercially made inserts or design your own that will be a handmade, one-of-a-kind, the choice is yours. All decorative glass units are TRIPLE -GLAZED with the inner section being the Decorative Glass Panel and the outer two pieces of glass being tempered for security and safety. Handcrafted, using solid metal caming and hand soldered at the joints, ensures the panels will be strong and withstand daily use for the life of the door. Premium Art Glass and select bevels are all hand cut, fabricated and fitted to make our Decorative Panels come to life and replicate the designs of “days gone by”. Slight imperfections, lines and bubbles are normal in most Art Glass as they were original leaded glass windows. There is also a selection of contemporary and modern as well as Wrought Iron designs available in this book.

THE ULTIMATE WEATHERING SYSTEM THE SILL

All Gladstone Custom Door Systems are constructed using a continuous, Adjustable Sill. These sills are made to meet and exceed the requirements for our harsh Canadian climate while giving the homeowner the choice of finishes such as mill finish, bronze or black on the exterior and four interior finishes of black, tan and two wood grain choices. With the Gladstone Adjustable Sill you will get the best combination of performance, technology and value.

HIGH DAM, INTEGRATED SEAL

No more stuck doors or drafts because the Z-Series Sill substrate material is a waterproof composite that won’t rack, warp or rot... ever! The substrate is not affected by moisture and will not rot like wood.

Extruded cap and nosing finishes provide resistance to wear and discoloration and offer a unique aesthetic appeal. The synthetic material used in the cap and nosing prevent warping, rotting and wear.

Dirt and water can get into the exposed screws of other adjustable sills. Patented sealing plugs hide unsightly screws and keep water and dirt away from the adjustment mechanism, maintaining adjustability of the sill cap over time.

Because of the narrow threshold cap, the drip edge on the door bottom deflects water a full 1/4” inch front of the cap, protecting against air and water infiltration.

A dual durometer cap seal overlaps the high dam. Both combine to provide a barrier to air and moisture even in the most extreme weather conditions.

THE SWEEP

Gladstone Custom Door Systems incorporate a fixed sweep system that fits into, factory prepared slots in the bottom of the door slab. The Leading Edge Bulb Design of the Fixed Sweep provides a wider stronger quality seal to keep back air and water. With the bulb design, a continuous seal forms along the sill dam, creating a maximum area of surface contact between the bottom of the door and the sill. The bulb design also retains its shape far longer than fin systems providing long lasting superior performance.

Q-LON COMPRESSION SEALING SYSTEM (Q-LON “Z-MAG” OPTIONAL)

Gladstone Custom Door Systems are manufactured using only the most advanced weather seals available. Q-Lon is the ultimate material for sealing entry door systems. Q-Lon is a urethane foam, wrapped in a virtually indestructible outer skin that stands up to constant temperature and compression changes. As doors expand and contract Q-Lon doors seals will take as much as 5/16” movement of a door away from the seal. Q-Lon Compression Weather-stripping is standard on all Gladstone Custom Doors and provides a long-lasting seal and protection against air and water infiltration. Q-Lon “Z-Mag” Magnetic Weather-Stripping is available as on option for Steel Entry Door Systems

THE ULTIMATE WEATHERING SYSTEM “IT TAKES MORE THAN ONE PART TO MAKE A SYSTEM”

PART 1 : SIMPLE SOLUTION CORNER SEAL

Increased air-pressure on the exterior of the door system can alllow water to flow up the interior of the weather-strip system. The Simple Solution Corner Pad blocks water under severe wind conditions and the result is an improved door system that will not leak.

The Crucial Corner is the most common place for water infiltration. The raised corner of the Simple Solution Corner pad tucks in behind the weather-strip to stop water from travelling up the interior channel of the weather-strip.

Weather-stripping material and positioning are crucial to to avoid pinching and to provide maximum contact with the door slab. All Gladstone doors use Q-Lon non-wicking weather-stripping components.

PART 2 : “LEADING EDGE” FIXED SWEEP The “LEADING EDGE SWEEP” incorporates dual durometer extrusions and a top quality design criteria to offer a superior barrier to air and water infiltration. The “LEADING EDGE SWEEP” is designed to retain it’s shape and maintain a tight contact with the sill for the life of the door. (illustration 1)

The “LEADING EDGE SWEEP” (illustration 1) provides a wider, stronger quality seal to keep back water and air. With a unique bulb design, a continuous seal forms along the sill dam, creating maximum area of surface contact between the door and the sill. Traditional “FIN” sweeps (illustration 2) only provides a very thin contact area with the door sill and have a tendency to ware over constant use.

PART 3 : CONTINUOUS FRAME SILL & HEAD

Gladstone Custom Door Systems are manufactured using continuous frame heads and frame sills, this manufacturing process produces a leak free sill system and an extremely strong frame system. The common practice with many manufacturers is to join “boxes” consisting of the door and sidelites, manufactured as separate components to form the final finished system. This practice depends on caulking to seal the “boxes” at the sill and over time the caulking may fail and allow water to penetrate the joint.

GARDEN DOORS

Garden Doors, sometimes referred to as Terrace or French Doors, are commonly used to replace existing Sliding Patio Doors but can be used in new construction or anywhere in your home for a wide open feel and look, while still maintaining security, and energy efficiency. Gladstone Garden Doors are available in 2 or 3 panel configurations in a range of standard sizes to fit almost any application. Custom size Garden Doors are available with some restrictions in smaller widths. All Gladstone Garden Doors are fitted with an external sliding screen. Roll-Away hidden screens are available as an option.

Under no circumstances will Gladstone be held liable for any consequential or accidental charges, such as, but not limited to, labour, refinishing, inconvenience, damages or injury to persons or property or any other expenses. BROKEN GLASS OF ANY TYPE IS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS WARRANTY. If Gladstone determines to make a replacement under the terms of this warranty and an exact replacement part is not available, Gladstone reserves the right to substitute parts of equal quality.

15 Year Limited Warranty The Paint or Stain Finish on Steel or Fibreglass doors and, PVC Frame Components are warranted for a period of 15 Years against such defects as blistering, peeling and flaking. ***Exposure to sunlight, air pollutants and normal atmospheric conditions will cause all painted surfaces to gradually chalk and fade, this is a normal condition and is not covered under the Limited Lifetime Warranty ***

HOW TO GET ASSISTANCE If there is a problem with your door system, contact the selling dealers immediately. Make sure you have the following information ready to give to the dealers. • Purchase and installation date • Original dealer invoice • Address where the product can be inspected • Description of the problem and photographs if possible MAINTENANCE & CLEANING TIPS • Clean all surfaces with a damp, clean cloth. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners on any surface of your door system. • Make sure the weather-stripping is not damaged or worn. If it is, your Gladstone dealer can supply replacement parts. • Occasionally lubricate hinges and hardware with a non solvent based lubricant or water based silicone spray.

This ergonomic door glass opens and closes easily as a result of this balance system, which allows for better control as well as ensuring user safety. ERGONOMIC 1. To open, a light upward movement is

sufficient aided by a balance system (less than 10lbs opening force). 2. Its two grip points help with raising and lowering.
