Valerie A. Gladstone Doll Artist This work began 20 years ago out of my love of handmade objects, and each doll reflects the various influences that I’ve absorbed from the rich artistic, and cultural soil around me. Although I was born in Manhattan, Brooklyn has always been my home. My mixed-media art dolls are one-of-a-kind. They are made with bits of my own artistic and social DNA - be it history, literature, food, music, dance, painting, photography, sculpture, costume, needle arts, millinery, fashion, theater, and hair design.
