Why Choose Defence? Pressure treated with TANALITH wood preservative DEFENCE farm posts are pressure treated with TANALITH wood preservative. The next generation wood preservatives, TANALITH and TANATONE are impregnated deep into the timbers under a proven vacuum high pressure technology which delivers deeper and more effective preservative penetration. This ensures long term protection against fungal decay and insect attack. The preservative penetrates the sapwood in the treated zone, in accordance to the ‘Class 4’ treatment specification.
Kiln Dried Posts DEFENCE timbers are kiln dried in a controlled environment using air circulation, heat and steam. This helps to improve the absorption of wood preservative Tanalith and extends the lifetime of the posts.
Anti-Twist 4 sided point DEFENCE posts are manufactured with an anti-twist four sided point. This feature delivers reinforced support for fencing posts and in particular straining posts.
Low Maintenance Because the preservative is embedded deep in the timber cells, it remains there for the lifetime of the fence. To maximise the service life of the posts, it is important that during installation of the DEFENCE timbers no post-machining should be carried out.
Sustainable Wood is a naturally sustainable material and is carbon neutral. Our timber is sourced from sustainable forests and FSC approved. TANALITH is a water based preservative based on copper Triazole and BARamine technology. Copper is derived from recycled sources and Triazole’s are biodegradable biocides, commonly used to protect many food crops. Tanalith is Boron and Arsenic free.
