It is interesting how the Covid pandemic has changed so much in our lives and many of these changes may become permanent features. Certainly, the adoption of technology which was already well underway, has accelerated such that we seem to have leaped ahead of where we would have been without this worldwide crisis. Glass News’ Editor, Chris Champion talks to Tommy Trinder founder and CEO about the Framepoint software and how its usage has changed since the lockdown in March.

Has the Framepoint software changed the way products are sold and is there evidence of this change from the installer customers? Originally, the software was to enable installers to talk with their homeowner and show windows and doors to them, even in a picture of their own home, and change styles, colours, add hardware and so on. Has that changed? Is Framepoint now an effective remote sales tool? If Framepoint is being used by an installer from their office with the customer in their own home, can the more mature customer (OK, I mean us old gits) get their heads around the use of the software? After all it’s the older generation with savings who are the most likely paying customer. Proof of the pudding is in the eating, so what are the statistics? What are the number of quotes being generated by those using Framepoint and what proportion results in a ‘makeover’: the visualisation by imposing product images onto a photo of the customer’s home? Even more important what is the sales value generated? And you really want to know that answer! With everyone watching their spend in these difficult times, is Framepoint a marketing cost that installers can do without or an essential sales tool? If it is essential, does the software hold images of every product from all systems companies so an installer can get started immediately? The

answer is both interesting and surprising as is the ability of the installer to configure the software for special products. More importantly, can it really cost as little as £95 per month?
