There was a bit of excitement last Tuesday at the Hinterland Lions AFL Club training at Landsborough when a number of the Brisbane Lions team dropped by to help out.

As part of the Brisbane Lions coaching, talent and engagement program, regional manager Paul Tresise (who locals may remember as a past president of the Hinterland Lions AFL club) organised for a group of Brisbane Lions to take the junior players through various skill development routines, as well as imparting their knowledge on how to make it to the top in AFL.

Current Hinterland club president Craig Bales was thrilled to have the top level players at the ground. “It’s great for the kids to see and meet these champion players. The Auskickers and Under 8’s especially had a ball.”

The Hinterland Lions club still have space for more players, and are especially looking for youngsters in the under 8’s category to come along and have a game.

The club can be contacted on 0414 225 329 or by emailing Craig.Bales@Quantum.com
