Dimensions in Science • Science is based on experimentation and handling of data. • But none of this could be possible if we couldn't work and manipulate quantities, and/or measurements based on units. • Units, or dimensions, are any specified amounts of quantity, as of length, volume, force, momentum, or time, by comparison with which any other quantity of the same kind is measured or estimated. • Units are different depending on the scale, or set of units. Usually, certain countries adopt certain scales of units. • The most used scale is: MKS‐cgs or Metric System.
