There’s nothing better than rounding up your best friends for a wine tasting weekend. At Burgdorf’s Winery you can sample in their tasting room, or enjoy a glass on the patio. Visiting in the winter? Or pull up a seat at the bar at Uncle John’s Fruit House Winery Taproom, housed in a renovated 85-year-old fruit packing house serving fruit wines, perries and hard ciders.

Whether it’s a good rye whiskey, a zesty gin or smooth bourbon, Greater Lansing is home to multiple artisan distilleries. Within two blocks right in downtown Lansing you can find American Fifth Spirits and Michigrain Distillery. Or try Red Cedar Spirits in East Lansing, one of the oldest distilleries in Michigan with roots in scientific agriculture. Sanctuary Spirits in Grand Ledge also offers great aperitifs along with other inventive spirits.
