Glen Echo Park is pleased to partner with Metropolitan Ballet Theatre and Academy to present this program for young dancers. Programs are normally presented by their faculty and held at Glen Echo Park’s Hall of Mirrors dance studio.

BALLET

DRESS CODE

Female students should come ready for dance class wearing any color leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, and have their hair properly secured. Male students may wear a plain white t-shirt, boy’s black tights or shorts, and black or white ballet shoes.

CLASSES

Mini Hip Hop (Ages 4-6) $96

MBT Faculty Class: W, Mar 2-Apr 20, No Class Mar 9 & Apr 13, 6-6:45pm,

Arcade 202/203 Students, ages 4 to 6, will enjoy a fun dance class that incorporates a fast-paced and upbeat warm-up, introduction to hip hop movement, strength building exercises, and creative exploration of movement. Dancers will learn new steps and combinations incorporating rhythm and style. This class is ideal for the young dancer who loves to move and groove! Students must be 4-6 years old by the start of the session to register. Class uniform: comfortable clothing such as leggings or athletic shorts, socks, clean sneakers, long hair secured back. Ballet/Jazz Combo (Ages 7-10) $168

MBT Faculty Class: W, Mar 2-Apr 27, No Class Apr 13, 7-8pm, Hall of

Mirrors Students, ages 7 to 10, will enjoy a fun dance class that incorporates a classical ballet barre and center along with stretches and creative exploration of movement. The second portion of the class will include a jazz warm-up and combination. There will be an emphasis on combination memorization with correct musicality, advanced technical concepts such as maintaining proper placement and alignment, and ballet/jazz class etiquette. Students must be 7-10 years old by the start of the session to register. Class uniform: leotard or form-fitting fitness shirt with tights or biker shorts, ballet shoes recommended, long hair secured tightly back from face in bun or short ponytail.
