COLONIALISM

- A MUSICAL ORAL HISTORY PERFORMANCE

Sven Kacirek & Wangari Grace, storyteller and children’s author will be performing the history of colonialism through the original medium of music and storytelling.

From the stance that colonialism is a global occurrence usually told through textbooks and explained by outsiders, Sven and Wangari endeavour to tell the story of colonialism through ordinary people’s own stories and experiences and set them to music. Originally aimed at children, this musical oral history performance has been well received in Germany and Kenya by children and adults alike.

Don’t miss this unusual, enlightening performance, which Sven and Wangari will perform live at MCC, on 3 February 2022.
