The goal of this project is to use augmented reality technology to guide users, who look for unique and affordable furniture, through every essential step. The project starts with the parametric formal design along with details of bent-wood segmentation and joint design. With the assistance of the AR devices in the construction process, the wood strips are bent with hot steam; mounted on the formworks; connected with curved metal joints to complete the work piece by piece. As a result, we achieved a parametric fabrication in a way between digitality and craftsmanship.
