l 17 de mayo, el Hotel Wyndham Herradura, ubicado en la ciudad de San José de Costa Rica, fue el escenario del esperado Evolution Tour de la compañía Solution Box.

oboRave 2017 es una competencia para alumnos y profesores que llevan a cabo numerosos proyectos de robótica. En esta ocasión, Colombia fue protagonista por los galardones principales recibidos.

oboRave 2017 is a competition for students and teachers who carry out numerous robotics projects. This time, Colombia was the character for the main awards received.

La competencia se dividió en tres partes, en las cuales los colombianos obtuvieron tres medallas de oro, cuatro de plata y dos de bronce. Con este resultado los competidores nacionales superaron a China, República Checa y otros cinco países. El evento promovió la apropiación de habilidades en ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas (STEM) en su edición 2017, que se llevó a cabo en Medellín, del 11 al 13 de mayo.

The competition was divided into three parts in which Colombians won three gold, four silver and two bronze medals. With this result, domestic competitors exceeded China, the Czech Republic and five other countries. The event promoted the appropriation of skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in its 2017 edition, which was held in Medellin, from May 11 to 13.

Line Following, Fire Fighting e Innovation Challenge fueron las tres etapas del concurso. Line Following estaba dirigida a estudiantes desde 8 hasta más de 18 años de edad. En ella los participantes debían diseñar, construir y programar un robot autónomo que siguiera una línea hasta una torre. En el Fire Fighting, los estudiantes, al igual que en la fase anterior, tenían que diseñar, construir y programar un robot. Aunque su sistema debía ser autónomo, este llevaba la misión de localizar y apagar cuatro velas. Las velas estaban localizadas en una superficie de 2 x 3 metros. Y como reto adicional, el robot no podía tocar las velas al momento de apagarlas. El tercer y último desafío, Innovation Challenge, estuvo dirigido a estudiantes universitarios, profesores, aficionados, ingenieros y estudiantes de 14 a 18 años de edad. Los participantes debían diseñar, construir y programar un producto innovador autónomo y telecontrolado. Para conseguir los votos del jurado, los participantes cumplieron con todas las características. Además de la ingeniería, el producto no podía costar más de tres mil dólares, debía tener un logo y una página promocional de lanzamiento.

Line Following, Fire Fighting and Innovation Challenge were the three stages of the contest. Line Following was targeted at students from 8 years old to 18. In the contest participants had to design, construct and program an autonomous robot that followed a line to a tower. In Fire Fighting, students, as in the previous phase, had to design, build and program a robot. Although its system had to be autonomous, this one had the mission of locating and extinguishing four candles. The candles were located on a surface of 2 x 3 meters and as an additional challenge, the robot couldn´t touch the candles at the moment it was going to blow. The third and final challenge, Innovation Challenge, was aimed to university students, teachers, amateurs, engineers and students aged 14 to 18 years. Participants were asked to design, build and program an innovative, autonomous and remote control product. To get the votes of the jury, the participants fulfilled all the characteristics. In addition to engineering, the product couldn´t cost more than three thousand dollars, it should have a logo and a promotional launch page.
