Como todo lo inherente al ámbito tecnológico, se trata de un tema fascinante que ha logrado captar la atención de diferentes sectores, siendo algunos de éstos la moda, educación, la comunicación, las artes y, la salud; en éste último las ventajas que ofrece la Inteligencia Artificial van desde la posibilidad de adelantar un diagnóstico, hasta tratamientos y terapias para disminuir el tiempo de convalecencia. Asimismo, el séptimo arte es uno de los ámbitos que más ha abordado lo inherente a este tema, tal es el caso de una producción de Steven Spielberg titulada Inteligencia Artificial, en la que narra la historia de un robot que asume comportamientos y sentimientos humanos, lo que evidencia una vez más el interés de todos los gremios en esta facultad de la tecnología.

La reducción de costos, el incremento de los ingresos, la posibilidad de predecir situaciones a largo plazo, la disminución del tiempo que toma realizar una actividad, así como el logro de grandes hallazgos y avances, son algunas de las ventajas que ofrece la Inteligencia Artificial.

n la Universidad de Los Andes hay un proyecto que trabaja en inteligencia artificial y es patrocinado por Google.

El profesor Pablo Arbeláez y Andrés Felipe Romero -su estudiante de doctorado- empezaron hace 3 años un proyecto para enseñarle a las computadoras a detectar pequeñas expresiones faciales. Luego entendieron que si lograban usar la inteligencia artificial para que las máquinas detectaran estados de ánimo, podrían extender su uso.

“En la parte de entretenimiento, detector de mentiras, los bancos para servicio al cliente, es importante poder detectar ciertas emociones en las personas”, añadió Andrés. Para lograrlo, han retomado los resultados de otros grupos científicos del mundo con los que colaboran y comparten conocimiento. Sus avances son tan prometedores que desde hace tres años Google se interesó por el proyecto y decidió patrocinarlo. Por ello, Andres Felipe viajó a Sao Paulo, Brasil, donde Google renovó su apoyo convirtiendo esta iniciativa en la única que en Latinoamérica ha recibido tres años consecutivos recursos del gigante informático.

martick es un método de aprendizaje online que, con ayuda de la inteligencia artificial, enseña matemáticas a estudiantes de 4 a 14 años de edad, brindando un programa de estudio personalizado que se ajusta a sus capacidades.

Esta tecnología permite conocer el estilo de inteligencia de cada persona y así diseñar un plan de estudios personalizado. Dicho método ha sido aplicado a unos 32.200 niños en más de 100 países, y ahora llegó a Colombia.

Ante la diversidad de personas con capacidades diferentes de aprendizaje, este mecanismo ofrece ayudar de manera individual a cada estudiante, en vista de que no todos perciben los conocimientos con la misma facilidad. De esta forma, para iniciar el proceso con Smartick, el estudiante debe que crear un registro en la plataforma digital, luego de esto, el sistema lo evaluará para determinar el nivel de conocimiento que tiene y sus destrezas de aprendizaje para ubicarlo en un punto de partida. Desde ese momento el niño podrá desarrollar todas las actividades determinadas por el programa.

Voyce created by 14C Innovations Inc, based in Virginia, United States. Has a version that detects similar information. It also has a Voyce Pro version, which is available for veterinarians to use in pets recovering from operations or long illnesses.
