Urban gardening on the roof in old town of Stockholm (We can share our experience on how to start urban gardening) What do you do when you have a perfectly located roof top terrace with great view, but everything except the sky is grey? Yes, you build your own garden! So we decided to start a urban garden on the roof top in Gamla Stan to make it a bit greener and cozier. From the previous project we took some left-over wooden planks (resuing the reused!) and built a big box. After filling it with some soil, the fun began!
The garden work begins: we seeded zucchini and some herbs and replanted the little tomato plants that had been growing from seeds in the warmth of our kitchen for a short while before. On this sunny day it was time for them to continue growing outside. Everyday we came upstairs to take care of the little plants, water them and encourage them to grow. And only after a few days of sunshine we could notice a big progress!
How fast the zucchini are growing and taking over the whole space! Time to act - we have to replant some of our little fellows to give enough space to the others. But how do you replant without having pots and if you don't want to buy new ones...right! You simply use your creativity and give old pots, bowls, shoes etc a new live!
